Which will you guys choose?

M roadster: approx $170k for used import

New Z4: close to $300k??

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

M roadster for me if pricing concerns..

But it is a tough call, theZ4 sDrive 35iS is a much better car for casual enthusiast with the MDCT, superb engine and comes with all the brand new nice technical gadgets in the car.

Giving no consideration for price, I would like to go with the new Z4 sdrive 35is. :)

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

IS35 for me.

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

Thats where i differ from Ryan. I'd take the Z4M Roadster over the 35i
driven both, but where i agree with Ryan is, the 35i is the more accomplished (read: usable) daily sports car.

Depends what ur' after and your driving style. I like it rough

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

Yeah, really depends on what you are looking for in the car.

Not taking price into account:
E85 M Roadster for raw thrills and if you like to work hard to wring performance out of the car.
E89 sDrive35iS if you prefer something more comfy and effortless performance.

I voted the 35iS as I am lazy these days and prefer a free left leg.... and free left hand most of the time.... lol

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

S35is....................

cheers

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

Spot on.

I love my car as it is, and it's very challenging to drive it fast and keep it from killing you.

In a practical sense in Singapore the new Z4 would really shine more than a six speed stick manual. The E85/E86 Z4 M roadsters/ coupe are already a hard buy/sell in Singapore and requires a very dedicated guy to buy. Throw a used-import in and it'll be even harder to let go later if you're the backside-itchy type. Hence my preference for the new car in this sense.

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

Get the Z4 s35iS...not enough free road to enjoy manual shifting...

Plus DCT is addictive, i love to down shift twice quickly to overtake road hogger...shiok x 2!

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

Come Sepang and I wouldn't have any other car than my coupe though :)

With start/stop traffic in SG, you really would like an auto from time to time....

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

Why not a PDK Boxster S?

To stay on topic... I vote M...

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

Boxster Spyder?

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

I chose M for the engine and also for the looks. I can't get over the new Z styling.

You sure know how to take it out of context. Heh.

In all aspects, the Ms and even the S35 gets you to license problem areas in Singapore. Shifting is fun and engaging but you'd be cursing when it's in a jam. Singapore roads no justice also. The new 35iS would be a much better car in terms of comfort, practicality, drive-ability, getting in and out, tech toys and serious speed. (who can complain when it's doing 0-100 in 5 sec in a DCT?)

The Z4M Roadster is still a bit compromised in terms of handling because of it's roof. I had a Z4 roadster before my M and the coupe feels a world apart with regards to handling during sweepers and corners. Then again, there's nothing like hearing and feeling the S54 engine in your hair. The very first Z4 M roadster i tried (same one with Mockngbrd) poisoned me for 3 years and never left my mind.

2 different cars at the end of the day, but given that if you don't track often and you don't drive the local roads like a local track, you won't wring anything close out of a M in Singapore roads.

M is the way for me as I love stick shift.. If am lazy for that day, than take another car out lor. :nehnehhh:

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

Hi Guys,

i am considering the Z4 M coupe at Hin Lung. Does anyone know the history. Its been there for months and wonder if anything is wrong with it. I have a sudden interest in M cars.

Are there any power upgrades available? How are brakes?

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

I test drove the Z4is 35 last month. Hated it. It is fast but that's about it. don't like the long front and it doesn't feel 340bhp. Audi TTS roadster is crappy too.

I will second the Z4M. raw NA. But that is same price range as used Boxster S which handles damn well.

Re: Z4M Roadster vs Z4 sDrive 35iS

For daily driving, I think I would pick the E89, or in that price bracket, the Boxster. :D
