Zapped by Mobile Camera

Dont like that leh...

Was hesitant about posting it cos worried it will end up with a day of massive island wide traffic jams and when they trace the initial post on the topic, I kenna CWO for life!

Truth is more like your car will have difficulty keeping to the speed limit......kekeke. Nevertheless it's a good idea to show TP how stupid they are.....

Can always keep to speed limits wan. Just damn jerky :laughlik:

I won't go as far as to say TP stupid. More like some roads speed limits are woefully low and really do need to be revised. Especially those roads along Bukit Timah and Holland etc where there used to be junctions but now have been upgraded to flyovers and underpasses. Traffic speed limits are just way too low in these cases.

I think I got zapped this morning too along Kepple Viaduct. Damn it !!

I notice this trend...most pple tend to get zapped along town roads rather than h'way. H'way is quite ok to cruise along at 90kmh but like I said...town roads speed limits are just too slow. I notice that mobile cams and speed traps seems to be along those 70kmh roads.

(Thomson Rd towards Targo Lane....SICC Bukit Timah Location leading towards Sin Ming.....Boon Lay Way towards IMM...)

I think if all travel at speed limit...all roads will be jammed up. Not like jam as like morning rush on CTE...but like Orchard Rd on weekends !!

I think its better to let drivers drive according to the road condition. If the traffic is clear, I think its ok for pple to cruise at 90kmh on a 70kmh stretch of road.

If one drives in a zig zag manner but never exceeds 90kmh as compared to one driving at 110kmh but in a striaght line...who is more dangerous ? :screwedu:

hahah both will get caught, only for different offences. the zig zag one is more dangerous in the eyes of the law coz dangerous driving carries more points than speeding at 20kmh over.

actually leslie, for your plan to work, very simple. just have an island wide exercise to get every single taxi driver's lazy butt off the coffee shop seat and into their cars. if every single taxi is out on the roads at the same time, the average speed in singapore straightaway halved confirm plus guarantee.

you all dont know only, TP and all the taxi companies are in cahoots in one of the biggest conspiracy in singapore. they have been commanded to drive at ridiculous speeds and only on the overtaking lane. thats why the situation is like that now.

u never watch movie, in the future all the taxi is driven by robots one. all taxi driver kena retrench liao.

What do you mean? They are oredi driving like robots...

Fine on speeding with little mercy is the easiest to raise revenue so I am not surprised. After all, govt budget needs some balancing. They give some financial reliefs in various forms and motorists who speed will pay back to balance the scale. Simple and effective. This is just one of the ways to do it without argument whatsoever and the police is always RIGHT! :silenced:

My sentiments exactly. :bullshit:

Err... in the event I vote for the opposition would PAP know who I vote for?

Think so. Every voting slip has a serial number which corresponds with your IC number. That means they can actually check if they want to. Anyway, where you're staying has no opposition if I'm not mistaken. That means you'll never get the chance to exercise your rights; just like me for the last 3 - 4 elections.... :(

You believe that they dunno who drew the turtle on the voting slip ?

When they said they cannot track cars using the IU in our cars...but later when the ERP got berzek and deducted amount from pple IU...LTA said they will refund to those effected...how the hell the know who rite....so I say...sure got methods to find out one.

Anyway...I dun delieve if you dun put cross...they void the slip. Gov very good at give and take on this kind thing. Remember Singtel when it was known as Singapore Telecommunication Authority blah blah blah...when you make a cheque to them...you just write Telecom or Telecome also the cheque will go thru one. If its your name...1 missing letter also the cheque will bounce !!

Zapped by Camera

Was driving along Clementi Avenue 6 minding my own business at a leisurely pace when along side a black WRX appeared. We both came to a rest at the traffic light at the end of the short viaduct....young punk in his sunnies glarred at me then jabbed his gas pedal signalling me to a run.

LOgically reasoned that my humble little ride stood no chance once his turbo kicks in, so pretty much just didn't bothered, figured he was probably trying to impress my "guest" in the seat next to me. Lights turned green and vamoosh....he was gone in a flash - literally, maintained my 60km/h pace only to see his reds light up and a puff of smoke from his tyre.

Got up to the T junction just outside the PDF camp and saw a little van with what looked like a camera at the tail gate. Brought a smile to my face to see the "friendly" boys in blue with their thumbs up......looking at the way that silly boy was going, he would have easily hit 120km/h!

Caught up with him again on the PIE Tuas bound, got alongside, both my guest and myself looked at him, shook our heads and burst out in laughter, young boy sure looked demoralised at the prospect of having to appear before a court in the not too distant future and was actually hoping that he would once again floor his pedal to proof himself. Thankfully he didn't.

Got gunned at Keppel Road going towards AYE sometime in April this year... Got clocked at 109km/h when the road limit is 50km/h... Went to court sometime in July this year. 18 points, $900 fine... But wait, this is the best part.

2 weeks after I got zapped, they raised the speed limit to 70km/h.... Which means I would have gotten 8 points (I think) and a hell cheaper fine....

Am I sway or what man.........

I was just talking to my old man before sending him to the airport. He was also complaining about why the hell is the government clamping down so hard on nabbing traffic offenders?

Are there really that many people speeding outrageous speeds on roads? Its ok if you launch unmarked cop cars with officers in civilian clothing to nab drivers using mobiles without headsets or drivers under influence... But to nab speeding as well???

I personally think this is damn ridiculous... Might as well lay down the bill stating that police are now authorised to set up ambushes. I.E. hiding in trees or bushes with their handy laser guns....

And btw, I found out that the police actually send all their vehicles for grooming.... Are they really rich or lazy?
