Re: Quiet Tires to recommend? MapleLeaf, I am decding which tyres to change to and is seriously considering the GR80. My ride is also the E46 sport edition. The front tyres are 225 and the rear 245. Did you get all 4 225? Could all 4 tires be 225 in this case?

Re: EML light on Finally, got the car back from the workshop. Apparently, a sensor in an actuator was not working. The advisor said that the sensor controls the 'eml' as well as the 'transmission' light (the one with the gear and the exclamation mark). Transmission not slipping. No idea why...

Not sure what the M3 steering wheel looks like, but the sports edition comes with M3 trims etc already, ie door sill, the 17" M alloys, the steering has the M logo below, leather steering wrap. (is this the M3 steering?)
