i heard from shops that the only affected ones is with the 18" , not the 19"
i have been using the 19" for almost 20,000k , and these tyres rocks !!! good grip on wet roads ,silent and most of all, cheaper then PS2 and CSC3 ,
my next set of rubbers will be f1 asym again

My one also 19" and still running fine.

12,000 km, 8 months, no issues. Good value for $$$.

Re: 19" Goodyear Assym F1

I am on 18 inches F1 made in Germany and about 8000km seems fine to me. No crack and whatsover... good grip, quiet etc.. so far no complaints.

Re: 19" Goodyear Assym F1

Bros, (sorry etan1 - for borrowing yr thread again), i hv replaced my stock with the Goodyear F1 Assym setup on my 1-week old F10 .... And i'm enjoying every minute of it!!!:thumbsup: Personally, i think it is better than PS2 on my previous E60 when i had them new as well. I'd also say value for money.

Thank you so much to all the bros for the info and especially to bro etan1 for this thread ;)

Taking this opportunity, wishing all A Happy New Year, Good Health and Good Luck Always!!

Cheers / Vic

Re: 19" Goodyear Assym F1

hey guys, just wanted share my personal experience with you all...I've just bought a set of original M5 rims from a very wonderful bro on Sat (whom is now my new beemer bitch and close comrade!!)...I was also fortunate to inherit a set of rear Bridgestone Ponteza ER001s from a another beemer buddy which was only about 7mths old.

So here's the thing, this afternoon as I was about to move off, I found that my car wasn't giving the same performance as it did on Sat, it felt shaky and so I stopped one side to check and it turned out to be a flat with a nail already embedded! I carefully drove it to the nearest tire shop to repair the puncture. After they removed my wheel, to my horror I saw that the inner tire walls ripped!!! the tear was more than 30cm long!! I wished I knew how to add pics here... by the way the nail was more than 2" long!!! so since i was at their mercy I was kinda encouraged to buy the Goodyear F1s @ $495 each.. I know I its rather ex for a 2009 and yet I bought 2 tires!! but after reading the good reviews here I've no regrets now :)

so here's my $990 lesson, I probably should have paid more attention to my air pressure loss warning systems that actually prompted me to do so twice and I ignored it!! All I ever did was stopped my car and let the system readjust its air pressure again and move of...i had this warning twice today...I'm very sure if I'd been more alert I would have prevented this expensive experience... I've a question, since most of our E60s don't come with spare tire kits, how would one repair temporary or small punctures temporarily? are there after market fillers that can solve this? I sometimes do travel to JB for work and my fingers are always crossed when there! any bro care to share their experiences....

Re: 19" Goodyear Assym F1

BMW Mobility Kit, consisting of air pump, a bottle of adhesive, a pair of gloves and other minor accessories. Or you can get an aerosol can of tyre repair glue, which is cheaper.

Both work similarly. Pump the adhesive into deflated tyre (through the air valve) and move car forward/aft to ensure good distribution of glue over the punctured surface, then inflate tyre to normal pressure and drive below 80km/h to nearest tyre chop to have the punctured tyre repaired properly or change tyre.

Best is still RFT but damn expensive to buy and grip not so good.

May be can do group buy of spare tyre kit (complete with jack and wrench) for our E60s. Anyone care to put a list up?

An option to consider would be to get a TPMS .....
