2006 face lifted 7 series

Hi all, my first time here. I was a merc-benz man but have recently crossed over from the dark side.

I just received my 2006 face lifted 730i. I was wondering if anyone could help by guiding me to a garage where they can put in tv, monitors and playstation. I am worried that if I give it to any old garage, they will screw up the sensitive electronics on the car. (performance is not indenting monitors for this version of the 7....or at least thats what the sales women tells me..and you know how they are!)

Furthermore, I have spoken to AC Shcnitzer in Germany and they say the body kit for this car will not be out for another 6-8 months. Does it usually take this long? also do you think it is wise if I put on 20" schnitzer rims for the previous 7 on my car or should I wait for the new version......yes I am impatient!

Congrats, the facelifted 7 series is beautiful.

U can try Tye Electronics at Depot Road. I believe they do up a lot of BMWs sent by both end-users and PML. Do a search in this forum by typing in a word say "Tye" or "ICE" and u shd see some discussion on Tye Electronics.

As for the rims, it all depends on yourself. If you really like the look of it then go for it!!

Congrats on the new ride...
20in wheels on 7 series look perfectly fine and the ride quality is not adversely affected too.

It's not uncommon to wait for the body kit to get shipped that long especially given it's a new facelifted model...

New version of ac rims is the Type IV...a beautiful rims but not quite suitable in terms of look ( to each own tho ) for the 7er coz of the thin spokes....If I were you, I would go for AC Type II 20inch.....Front 9J and Rear 10J.....swee2x..
Tires 255 front and 285 rear...

Congrats on your new ride.
In addition to Tye Electronic, you may also want to check out Swift Motion. They do lots of high end cars and are known to be one of the premium installer. But, they are on a higher price scale for excellent quality work.

Hi, thanks all for your quick response and guidance.
just an update.


I have sent the car to Swift Mtion to put 5.5" monitors in the back headrests and a 9" monitor in the centre console. Also I have installed a ps2, but they say there is a possibility that it may cut out while playing. If it does, they will install a ps1.


I told you I was impatient!!

That was bloody fast!! Are you already familiar with Swift Mtion from past experience? Can't believe you just read the recommendations in the forum this morning immediately compair and go and do liao? Wah!! :)

But, I have all my stuff done at SM and am very happy with their quality. Good luck.

btw, while i'm at it.....any other reccomendations of any thing else I can regarding the entertainment of my car? They are trying to convince me to put 2 x 12" woofers at the back..... but I dont know.

I am on 2 X 12" woofers in a e39 5 series. I think the tuning is impt in order to fully enjoy it. To this day, I am still not satisfied with mine. If I have the chance, I wld prefer a boxed one coz it takes less space too. But then in the 7 series, space wld not be an issue.

i think i will have to wait on the woofers. Had the car for 2 weeks and it already eating its way into to my savings account.

better slow down regarding the woofers.

wahhhhh!...... you should install the PS3 and XBox 360!!!... then can i be ur god son???.... :p

Anyways.. i think 2x 10" wld be better???... more suitable i guess???.. but up to prefrence i guess??

i tried to get the xbox 360 as my sister works for microsoft....but they just looked at me and laughed. I even offered to let them use my car for promotions of the xbox.


2 x 10" actually may be a better idea..... will do some research....sony xplod any good?


what about spinner rims? ... i think that may be taking it to far...and they are kinda of ugly........apologies, just toying with ideas.

I recently heard from a friend that it cost ard $240,000+? Not too sure if he is right or he just being BIG HOLE...

The prices aboove sounds pretty much correct....I am not gonna disclose how much the car was....but i can tell you that it is worth every penny.



haha ...no worries mate....i was just joking regarding the spinners.
and btw, I understood the meaning of "sick".


my car already comes with pro-logic 7 13 speaker system. I manage to get the from performance as part of the deal...so I see no need in changing the speakers....Those at Swift are advising (or hustling) me to add in woofers.

I think the car is a work in progress.
