Hi,

would like to seek some advice on this..
anyone know this 316 (M)?
Used BMW 316i Car for Sale in Singapore, - sgCarMart

Price 15,800.
316iManual Transmission. Cheap Road Tax With Low Fuel Consumption.
Willing To Accept Any Reasonable Offer.
COE $24,920
OMV $27,456
Depreciation $5,576 per year

new to this.... thanks.

Re: 316I, anyone know this?

If u want use till 2014 & get back nothing, still ok to buy.
Unless COE drop in 2014. Price ok ok, need see condition.

Re: 316I, anyone know this?

$5576/yr is rather high for a 316, even though coe prices have gone up recently.
this is a 1994 car so its already 17 years old....the 2nd or 3rd round of major wear n tear is there unless the owner have already fixed it.
or you will end up like Bro Legendo spending another quite a bit of money on repairs.
if u are prepared to spend on that, might as well choose one with more years to go

Re: 316I, anyone know this?

:( ya... my 316i also 17 yrs old, hence I am the resident road hog....and today I realised another parts has expired.....need to change my air freshener liao ... *sob*

Re: 316I, anyone know this?

swatchlu, if u spend money like Chairman jawzsg maintain his ride, then your ride will be less problemactic
pls go in with eyes open wide when buying E36 cos of the wear n tear involved, at least set aside 5k for repairs.

buy chairman's car lah, less headache...keke

Re: 316I, anyone know this?

1994 is M40 engine running on timing belt. unless you can up keep like Chairman. else go for a M43 using chain.

Re: 316I, anyone know this?

thks for the advice... how to know its M40 (time belt) or M43 (Chain)?
find the depreciation high too....

Re: 316I, anyone know this?

as long as is > 1995, should be M43.

depreciation of $5.5k is ok if is Jawzsg car or one that don't need any repair

Ya... iScoupe E36 not bad.. running smooth.. only just need to change front seats leather...
Or
Maybe after I've fixed up everything, I wanna sell.... Just saw a RED E46 318i Cabriolet on sale... Now heart itchy to buy but depends how much i can sell mine..

After the Transmission is fixed next week, I can say I almost changed everything till no oil leak.
During these 2-3 months, other than technical stuffs, I also hostelry all seats and door panels to leather. Even done up the ceiling and 6 pillars include hostelry back-dash board+visors to black. I even bought New aircon vents and done up the carbon fiber decal at the gear, clock area. Installed ICE with all Soundstream setup includes 2x AMP, 1x Cap, 1x woofer and pionner dvd head unit with reverse camera which i rather not remove.

I'm thinking of getting a new Alternator to make sure it will be the last expensive stuff to spent till 2014 June...

what kind of things shall I "open eyes big big?" :)

Bro, I think before you commit your car, I think you should bring it to BOSS to do a inspection. I think they can label many things out...
Like mine, dealer so no problem one, untill BOSS point out 11 problems...
But its just my own opinion only..

Re: 316I, anyone know this?

legendo...thks for ur advice. That 316 (M) is already sold. So now may have to wait and see.
