I would think COE prices is somewhat stabilising and should hover around 30-40k range in the forseeable future. This is about 10-15k above Jan-10 level when 523 was launched at 188k. Hence if you ignore FX this translates to 200-205k for the base model. Of course Perf Motor would say that was "pre-launch" price and the official launch price would be a few k higher... which is... an acceptable argument.

But FX wise, 1 Euro > 2 SGD for the longest time. If Perf Motor is placing the orders now, 1 Euro < 1.75 SGD. Therefore the lower OMV is not surprising at all, and i dare say it does reflect the lower costs they paid for the stock possibly 10-12% lower (of course they could be lowering their "declared OMV" as well but we don't know).

Assuming they are paying SGD 5 - 10k lesser per car to Germany, this translates to SGD11.5k to SGD 23k lower costs. I would say, the reduction in their costs should offset the increase in COE price.

Well at the end of the day its supply and demand, they can't hold the 215k price tag unless consumers are willing to pay.

Calculation sounds reasonable, thing is lower omv did not benefit buyers but went to their pockets.

OT a little, aside to the new 5, look at prices of the other higher end models. COE goes up, price goes up. COE drop, price stays or did not drop proportionately. Add on the lower omv due to fx, they are really making a bundle.

Yes, end of the day its supply and demand but they know Sgreans are rich :)

Also SD has lost a lot of money as a group leading to an absence of leave for its CEO. Maybe they trying to plug all the holes, and this is a fantastic cash cow.

I was disappointed with the launch event, the spec and the OMV of the car.

To some of you guys comparing this to the E90 320, I heard they are selling the car for $180k. Dunno what the OMV of the car is though.

on paper the price remains the same but they tend to be more flexible with the discounts as compared to when the car was still selling at 27k coe.

dun think they can keep up this pricing for to long shld COE stay the same. they r already losing customers to C&C when word got out on the OMV figures. C&C laughing to the bank

definitely true, considering a few here have cancelled their f10 booking.

The merc's omv could have been cars imported before currency drop and impact...probably the early f10 adopters will taper off within the next few months.... then..... Prices will change...

That is 86K margin for F10 523i compared to 26K margin for E60 525i a year ago, a 3-fold increase :silenced:
