You can buy some octane booster and add to the fuel when can't find 97 petrol.

Last time jeep-pun chia, manual say RON100... one time scare now RON95 I also pump, heck care, lazy to carry so many things la...

Re: 95 fuel boleh?

Your jee pun chia is PI? Cos from what I heard, only jdm spec is ron100. Those for export usually is 95 or 98. Some even 92

Re: 95 fuel boleh?

Since I did my own research years back on Octane Booster, I would like to input some info and hope it helps. I saw a neutral test review conducted on 10 brands of Octance Booster, the results shows that although they works.... read below;

Do not waste your money on Octane Booster if you are using RON98/97. Those Octane Boosters you see on Petrol Station shelves or even Autobacs... it will only works on S$40 per treatment. I will not disclose brand here or I will appear to be advertising.

Cheers

actually should pamper your e90 when u are in MY.....should whack the Vpower cos its cheappppp....haha
Singapore 95 is safe enough for everyday drive if u are not bothered abt the theoratical bhp blah blah blah like me....hehe
It is not theoretical, it has been proven even by both non-car manufacturers & car manufacturers. There's a bhp difference (on same engine) when using Ron95 and 98. How much increment is also specific to engine type.

Let me rephrase your statement whuile aligning it to the truth or facts (copy+paste+edited) = Singapore 95 is safe enough for everyday drive if u are not bothered abt the fact of bhp increment between 95 and 98 :D

I think the above para is a better way to put the statement forward, the truth is there while the decision is individual.

Re: 95 fuel boleh?

just pump 98, every will be perfect...no knocking sound and funny noise from your car when idle....save fuel as well if you are driving daily!

Re: 95 fuel boleh?

I am from the oil industry, just fyi, RON 95 and RON 98 gasoline are made very differently. RON 98 has more higher energy content, higher RON components than RON 95, hence a tankful of RON 98 can definitely last longer than a RON 95 gasoline. Furthermore, RON 98 has 50ppm S content versus RON 95 S content of 350ppm. Depending on the price spread, it maybe more economical to pump RON 98 at times...

Re: 95 fuel boleh?

Just my 2 cents...

V-power is that is additional additives to RON 98 will only be useful if you drive long distance (Malaysia drive would be the best) without start/stop frequently or city drive. The additive would need constant travelling to work the cleaning and the protection.. :)

so...just pump 92 or 95.. if you want to save some bucks and let your ECU adjust adccordingly. Anyway, our pre-90 do not have as high compression as the VTEC.. so should be fine from knocking..if just for day to day drive.

The V-power additives u stated is specific to Malaysia's V-power only, e additive used for Singapore's V-power is different from those used for Malaysia.

Read my earlier post below for e differences, kinda ( I do not anyhow anyhow say say, info is direct from Pulau Bukum) :shhhh:

Re: 95 fuel boleh?

Lolz... Bro, I meant V-power in general (regardless Malaysia or SG v-power) is most effective when travelling long distance... not start-stop driving. I have no doubts in your information. :)

It is ok, the info is not by me.

It is from Shell Technical Department in Pulau Bukum itself. They did advise us to avoid using SG V-power if travel on expressway often (use normal 98 instead) but encourage SG V-powr for e mini-better response on e acceleration for City driving. For me, I strongly believe there's truth in it... I do not think they want to be sued by a competitor with such a claim, especially they do not know "our professions" in e audience :D

Re: 95 fuel boleh?

Want to pump 95? Then travel up north , but then again even the price range from 95 to 97 is like RM$0.2 hahaha if I can recall ,

But well , even the most ex petrol in the north is so much cheaper than the most cheapest petrol in SG :confused::confused:

RM$3.10 to SGD$2.0

Re: 95 fuel boleh?

Bro! You must have not been travelling up north to pump petrol for quite a while liao..... Malaysia now do not allow SG cars to pump 95. Only 97 and V-Power.... Coz 95 is "subsidised petrol" there. I think it's about RM1.95 (95) vs RM3.00 (97). But I recall the price difference between 97 and V-Power is quite small. Something like RM0.20 a litre.

can one, but not those near the checkpoint... but they will charge you the unsubsidised rate..
but I myself don't pump 95 (but did so back in my jipun car days)

if I'm not wrong 95 was like RM$2.65
97 is RM$2.85 , and V.Power is RM$3.00 (or 3.10)

Re: 95 fuel boleh?

Oh! I didn't know that..... but given the minuscule savings, I think the best bang for the buck is still Ron97...
