A Good 323i Deal (IMO)

Re: A Good 323i Deal (IMO)

Canada BMW specs are different! They do not have 325i and 330i, I wonder why is that so. :juggle:

Canada 323i = Singapore 325i
Canada 328i = Singapore 330i

discussions in forum in e90post.com indicate that canada will get 2007 323i with 200 bhp -- getting a car is like getting computer -- specs are being improved continuously -- got to decide at some point in time whether you are happy with what's available or you'd like to wait for future new & improved :uhhh:

2006 BMW 3 Series Coupe 330Ci New Car Test Drive Expert Review on Yahoo! Autos

"In the 325i sedan ($30,995), the new engine generates 225 horsepower, for an increase of 40 over the 2005 model."

Is it possible there is a slightly more power 325 engine waiting in the wings?
Current PML 325 specs list 218bhp.

Hubba,

The reason for this is that the United States, they do not use the 2.5L engine.
They only have the 3.0L for standardization.
So the 2006 325i has a detuned 3.0L with 215hp (not 225hp in the end) and the 330i has 255hp (same for the E60 525i and 530i).

Anyway, for the 2007 E90 in the US, they have done away with the 325i. Now they have only 2 models, the 328i with a slightly detuned 3.0L engine with 230hp, and the 335i with the :yummie: :yummie: :yummie: twin turbo 3.0L with 300hp.

3 Series Home - BMW North America

They have a different market there... petrol (or gas as they call it) is damn cheap (for our standards at least)... and so are the cars + road tax is NOT dependent on engine cc.
So people who buy BMWs go for bigger and more powerful engines.
BMW North America does not sell smaller engines to boost their image of only selling high end, performance cars.

:)

Re: A Good 323i Deal (IMO)

And the engine compression ratios of the North American BMW engines are also lower than the European equivalent specs.

This also enables BMWs there (depending on engine model) to pump 87 AKI and 91 AKI gasoline.

AKI = (RON + MON) / 2

Typically:

87 AKI = 92 RON
91 AKI = 96 RON

Only boutique gas stations sell > 98R gasoline there, typically reserved for the super cars.

Yes.

Car not mine though. :) Just helped negotiate for the 18" rims.

Re: A Good 323i Deal (IMO)

Thanks for the reply.

I tot the rims r standard with the 323 package, need to negotiate ah ?

Re: A Good 323i Deal (IMO)

I think it depends on the loan (if any) taken; seems that the "packaged" rims comes partly from the SE's commission (or so we're told), but I would take it with a pinch of salt :)

How's your search for the 335??

Re: A Good 323i Deal (IMO)

Yes mine Michelin too!
