Had HPFP issues during warranty period, changed 3 times in 1 year. 4th HPFP change from outside workshop, no problem for the past 1.5 years.

Holey $h1t bro Raingod. You know, it's exactly news like this (and I heard enough of it from reports & my friends) that scared me away from the 1st generation F02 740Lis....

Good to know you've gotten yours fixed (hopefully permanently)

Hey Wobbles..

haha.. well initially i was very upset with the HPFP issue, have to leave the car there for like 3 to 4 days every time it fails. So damn irritating. PML even wanted to de-tune the performance of the car to suit the low quality HPFP. its so damn ridiculous.

Went to outside workshop, wala!! half a day to get it done, lasted until today without any problems even my car was tune up to almost 380hp. Car is nice without problem of HPFP thus far. From that day onwards, i have never trust PML service ever again. Will not go back to them unless i have warranty with them, especially when i hear cars that have sludge formed in their engine sump even after servicing. (dun flame me, love the cars hate their serivce) :laughlik:

Re: Advice needed! Thinking of Buying a 2nd hand 335i....

I hear you bro. And I echo the sentiment. Love the car, hate the incompetence at PML... 380hp. I wonder how it feels to be behind the wheel of a monster like that...

How come OMV so low? Is this the bare basic model with everything taken out? Or, somebody play punk with the declaration?

It's a mistake. I have actually viewed this car, and it's OMV is about $73.7k. The dealer had mistakenly keyed in the minimum PARF rebate value! The car looks good, just not sure why it hasn't been sold in so long. That's the irony of it all..... there may be absolutely nothing wrong with the car, but the longer it's on the market, the more suspicious people get, and the harder it becomes to sell!

I had a 335 coupe since Sept 08 till todate.
No loud ratling noise so far.

Had HPFP issues during warranty period, changed 3 times in 1 year.
4th HPFP change from outside workshop, no problem for the past 1.5 years.
The rest of the wear and tear bit is normal, i have not faced with major breakdown so far (touch wood). Have done almost 80,000km and everthing seems good.

Interestingly, this car has many things to mod, very poisonous. One of the best car i have ever driven. No lag, easily can push up to 380hp with just a JB4 or tune.

Just my 2 cents..;)
Happy searching

Should be coming soon.

Then, to echo the immortal words often heard in these forum pages: MAI TU LIAO - what are you waiting for bro!?!?

Re: Advice needed! Thinking of Buying a 2nd hand 335i....

380HP!!!!!!!!! Woooooohooooooooooo!

It's EXACTLY why I want to buy a 335. If I get it, I'll definitely crank it up to 380HP if I can. I definitely want to be POISONED!

Do I need to change any parts if I do the JB4 tune? Or can I remain stock?

I'm still very worried though about the HPFP and wastegate issues. If kena a lemon, that's it lah...

Re: Advice needed! Thinking of Buying a 2nd hand 335i....

So HPFP issues will also bug the 535 and the new 520 and 528 turbos?

Buy first, worry later......
If scared buy audi

Re: Advice needed! Thinking of Buying a 2nd hand 335i....

Already driving Audi. Now itchy, that's why want to buy BMW 335i! Used to drive an E46 3-series, and recall that lots of problems occurred when 4-5 years old.

Which engine are you talking about?

2.0 TFSi?
3.0 supercharged?
V8
V10?

I dunno, never thought of driving an Audi before. Most of my friends who drove one complained of the front wheel drive experience... Quite off putting, apparently.

Why didn't they try 4wd

Re: Advice needed! Thinking of Buying a 2nd hand 335i....

Dunno leh. They are now Bimmer drivers - and they were the ones that introduced me to the BMW brand a few years back.

Quite aside from the issue of whether FWD or RWD is better (which to the large majority of drivers is not important), owning my Audi for the past 5 years has been a very pleasant experience. Sure there have been some expensive and frustrating repairs (gearbox ECU went kaput and cost me $3k!), but 140k km later, I'm still very happy with my ride. It's now very reliable and smooth. The car with MTM Stage 1 (245hp, 355NM), is very lively and pulls away surprisingly strongly for a car its size. If you haven't driven an Audi, do give one a try. You just might be pleasantly surprised - e.g. I've heard the S5 is pretty awesome. As mentioned earlier, I'm thinking of changing cos I've had my ride for sometime now, and perhaps it's time to change for a new ride experience!
