Do you have one already?

Let me know how much louder it is... thanks... cause if its too soft then no point... i am trying to fail Lane 8 testing at idle (like the last time). HAHAHAHA!

Sure thing. I will record the sound inside the cabin using the same digital recorder and share it :) This exhaust will be LTA approved, so i reckon it should still be quite civil.

Then that's no fun... but please share the pics and sounds if possible after the install.

If you don't mind, can you let me know how much you are paying for the exhaust? this is a cat back system or from the headers forward?

15hp for exhaust and intake is actually not very much. expected more gains from freeing up the airflow...

Re: Akra Evo Exhaust for F10 M5

oh, sorry, its just the intake only... then it makes sense.... thanks! looks quite good.

Re: Akra Evo Exhaust for F10 M5

I heard someone has already installed the Akra onto the m5 but im not sure if owner is a member here.

I think it will be around $11k. I haven't paid yet. From what i know, the M5's cat is located at the downpipes and this exhaust is after that, so it should be a cat-back technically, but there is still a lot of metal in it.

This one is a bit of a snake oil i feel. How does a carbon intake for a FI engine bring about 15 hp gain? If it's a ram air intake, i can probably understand, but in a turbo setup? Looks a million bucks though :) Being someone shallow, i probably won't mind paying for it. It's just that i don't usually drive with my bonnet open...

To me Gruppe M is snake oil. I had it installed almost immediately after I got my 335. Felt good and sound great for a $2800 vacuum cleaner. Then I demod it as wanted to sell car and the car drive even better with much better low end. I swear by stock filter after that.

But the shiny bits are oh so inviting.... hahahaha...

CF. This exhaust should be done in CF only as it's one of them main highlights of the exhaust. I am waiting for MA to get LTA approval before installation.

You can hear the Akra on a M5 here --> https://www.facebook.com/Aleph.Racing.Machines

Scroll down and you will see a video of the Akra in action.

If u know the owner of that shop, u might wanna do them a favour and tell them that their video is not up to scratch. They aren't gonna sell any exhaust with that video. Have a look at the official Akra video posted at the beginning of this thread.

Re: Akra Evo Exhaust for F10 M5

Ok, finally had my Akra Evo done for my M5 along with the color coded side grills. I did some recordings of the sound in the cabin, but realized that it doesn't really capture the difference that well. As Reeve mentioned, the sound is quite a lot louder with the windows down and not a whole lot louder with the windows up. However, there is no mistaking that there is something different and special about this exhaust even with the windows up. In enclosed area, it's noticeably louder and nice :) Under hard charging, the sound takes on a harder edge racy tone, which suits the car just fine. I am very happy with the exhaust and the carbon tips are to die for. I have discovered that i could open up the through loading hole in the middle passenger seat. That allow more of the music to filter into the cabin even when the windows are up. As i have always said, i don't expect it to be a whole lot louder considering that the F10 platform is like a nuclear bunker blocking out most of the sound. If it's loud in the cabin, it's gonna be quite uncivilized on the outside. A few quick pics here...
