I don't think there should be right or wrong on colors of photos. some like is with certain tints some like it lighter and some like darker. is all depends on how the photographers wants it to be. then adjust to bring out the mood of the photos.
But as why some photos are yellowish and some are blue tint main due of the camera settings you set. normal camera had a few environment light settings. e.g auto, sunlights, fluorescent lights, night lights and even low lights. you can play with this settings to get the lighting effects you want.
e.g. if you used fluorescent lighting settings inside office environment with lots of fluorescent tube lighting, you picture normal would look slight blue tint. but under the same fluorescent lighting and sun lights settings used, the picture will look yellowish.
just my experience on normal digital camera settings on getting the environment lighting I want.
