can consider state bank of india's step up interest account too... can get up to 1.48% pa

split your monies into half..one into FD
another in another currency...go into AUD when it weakens..at this rate, its too high...aussie pay higher interest rate...or you can do something what some banks call dual currency...may not necessarily be converted if your strike price is far away but maybe u can get 4% p.a. for each month you place in such product.
also, i hear gold is still hots...despite the levels now...

Dual Currency Depos are a short-put position - not ideal if you do not have a book in BOTH currencies.
If you have exposure in AUD, example son studying in AUD and you will need AUD some point in the future, then that's fine.

ah dont wish to split currency as dont have too much to start with anyway haha and dont have much time to monitor the exchange etc all?
talk about gold thats even far reach for me at this moment even thought i have a couple of small small 999gold coin.

from what TS is saying he only wants FD. period. to me FD is a waste of time...but if he insists. then if i were him..i just go to icici n do the 1.65% end of story. simi dual ccy notes etc..all totally not applicable to his objective. if he is happy with making 825 bux on 50k...at 1.65% in a year then thats the best he has got on the table now without taking more risk than FD.
if he wants to go into credit story....then he goes to DBS n 450 on the same 50k.
personally i wud go icici if i am into FD.

Money now tough to earn if leave in banks. Best invest it.
Can apply from govt to run online prositution since now govt are aware the huge potential business of the upper class people needs. If approved, you make it big then sell your business to Singapore Pool for a few millions, they will name it Singapore Pros. u can shake leg.
