About $44k. I think I know where this thread is heading so... to compare apples to apples with PI, we need to see how much the various options cost and add up. The base car in the US is only US$35-38K but with options can go all the way to about $55K - $60K. Read enough F30 forums and you'll gather the same information. There are other options that come standard for PML's 328 luxury like the lights package, NAV professional, internet, hands-free system with USB, sport steering wheel, servotronic, cruise, extended instrument cluster, anti-glare interior and exterior mirrors, dual-zone aircon control, sport transmission, Loud-speaker (with amp) option, storage compartment package, through-loading system and comfort access. But on the other hand mine does not come with sunroof nor DVD changer (which I don't see on the options list, so it may be a local 3rd party installation). I think it is the way the numbers are reported. PML's standard has a long list of options (except adaptive suspension which I wish it had) so the real base value should be quite high. But PML seems to try hard to lower the OMV so that they have a higher margin, just business sense but not to buyer's (our) advantage. However at 50% of OMV end value, my view is that it is almost meaningless the difference in OMV will make when calculating depreciation rate for a $230+k car. Think about it, the COE depreciation rate is alone is about $8K per year. Maybe it makes sense to compare OMV on cheaper cars, but at this level, well I don't know as long as it is not a drastic difference which it isn't.

If a PI can support with software updates and any key issues to ECU or (like keyless entry, HUD, gps etC) and a wonderful warranty scheme, then PI's worth the route, else a saving of $30k aint worth it, but u can mod it the way u wan w/o bothering abt warranty

Re: BMW’s Newest 3 Series Launched in Singapore

While I continue to wait for word on my 335 (which was supposed to arrive in Singapore yesterday, but seems to have gone missing 'cuz PML just tells me its 'delayed'), can I just confirm that the run-in for the car would be as per normal for other brands, i.e. drive gently for first 1,000km? And what exactly does 'gently' mean? Try and avoid topping 2,500rpm? Or is it safe to go higher?

I drive below 4500rpm initially then just WOT to run in, no need to watch so much on engine for me, I'm running in more for the suspension and brakes :lol::lol:

I already cursed at my SE last mth hahahahaha told me bs stuff that Euro is down, then why Audi is giving higher OMV? Audi also fm Germany ma (comparatively S4). Pls lor, my S4's OMV was 62k when I got it for 220k???!!!

Anyway dun bother, we got a good deal on the S350 CGI, OMV's near to 100k and similar to a half mill M5, so that good consolation :lol::lol: Its ur interests that count, happy just buy, dun bother, make urself miserable only :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

i heard it is because they pay in SGD or something.. dunno what it means but it is "Euro-proof"...

Re: BMW’s Newest 3 Series Launched in Singapore

Euro proof means thy use euro at usd rate for OMv. Then use pounds rate to calculate selling price Hee hee

hey tortoise....I believe your S4 was bought in 2010 thereabouts? what was your COE then?

if you compare current S4 price from PA.... with F30 335 from PML.... how big of a difference are the respective OMVs and sales prices of each respective car assuming COE is the same?

btw, in general... BMW cars have low OMVs.... used to be Audis but I think they have upped their game plan.

Yeah S4 was in Oct 2010, COE 42k. Pretty good deal for the price kekekkee

Current S4 price is around $300k I guess, OMV would be 62k+ if I aint mistaken, PA always give proper OMV, u wun be disappointed

The supposedly game plan was like Beemers have lower OMV but better market value, the contrary is true for Audis. Hearsay only, dun flame me, I own both so wun be biased hahahahahhaa :lol::lol:

Oh ya, 335 shld be ard $283k or so now. Launch price was $253k+ but the COE needs to be topped up for. I got mine for list price of $277,800 before discounts. Heard a $6k increment so prob ard $283k.

Anyway the 335 loses the S4 in several equipment stuff, there's no front PDC in 335, rear and side sunshades. The S4 is generous in compartment storage, I need to ration my stuff to fit in nicely for the 335 interior, kinda sucky to me tho. Sunroof is oem, I paid extra for my S4 tho plus the rear diff. Fc wise, kinda similar. Traction, I like the 335 in dry and adore the S4 in wet kekekeke but 335 loves to be whacked, prob a turbo is better pulling than a SC kit.

There's only one main reason why I miss the S4, I could smoke in it and now I cant do so for all the 3 cars. Damn!!! :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:

so conclusion....

current 2012 bought cars... COE being equal...

Audi S4 MSRP $300k.... OMV 62k

BMW 335i MSRP $270 - 290k?? OMV is 44k?...... I'm not sure..??

Re: BMW’s Newest 3 Series Launched in Singapore

PML has given me new ETA of my car in Singapore of Apr 22, with pre-delivery work still to be done thereafter. Asked the sales rep if the boat is lost, but she replied that the boat is delayed by "bad weather". Is the car being transported here by SAMPAN? What kind of bad weather delays a container ship (presumably) for a week?

Must. Be. Patient.
