Re: BMW newbie

Welcome BMWSiao and z76 to the forum :)

For your 318i and you want to feel more power, go for mods that give you more torque.

Torque is the one that give u the boost and acceleration, and bhp is the power for u to hit top speed...

In SG, we almost do not have a chance to go top speed.. so abit no point...

And as our car is RWD, going for staggered setup will help a lot in cornering...handling as well... but cost is an issue cos you cannot rotate rear tires to front and vice versa...

Thanks bro. Super newbie here. What do you suggest for a must-have mod for my new bimmer? The thing is it is still under warranty (1.5 years old). On the other hand, I don't want to void the warranty.

Some of the aesthetic and performance mods I had in mind are :

1. ECU tuning
2. Angel Eye Light
3. 18" staggered sports rims
4. DVD player/Reverse cam/GPS display unit
5.
6.

Bros, please advise.... thanks!

not to worry too much...the parts you mod ( that part warranty will be void )

cheers

Re: BMW newbie

Basically what AC is saying is whatever you mod, that part warranty will void.

Anything estatic is easier to mod, if you target the ECU then need to look for piggyback stuff ba. Reflash the ECU then reverting will Be more troublesome.

Re: BMW newbie

after all mods done, is time to look for runway........

Re: BMW newbie

great... any suggestion for bodykit.

Looking for something 'lightweight' (if there is such bodykit)

Look-wise similar to M3 will be nice.

Cheers!

Re: BMW newbie

I would suggest to go for Original BMW Performance Parts, i.e. performance air intake system, performance power kit, etc. I think PML have them and you won't void your warranty after upgrading. :D

it is fine balance between aesthetic and performance.

I know the bodykit will make it look nicer at an expense. But i read it somewhere in the forums that there are many types of bodykit material. Some is lighter than the other.

Hi BMW,

actually the weight wont be of alot of a difference......probably go for lighter rims better and slam in with a good sets of coilover ( improve the handling better )

* power is nothing without proper Handling..............

Whatever you mod, sure void warranty on that part...

UNLESS

you mod with M performance parts from PML or MA... then Warranty covered...

that is a fact.. cannot run.... Even you change rims outside, PML will say that it is bigger so it will affect your suspension blah blah blah... :/

Re: BMW newbie

Noob question. How do you distinguish a xenon headlights to halogen headlights? Does E90 LCI model already come in xenon stock headlights?
