BMW removed automatic radiator fins for F10

[BMW FOREVER]

When I went to PML this weekend I noticed that all the new F10 dont have the automatic radiator fins and have the fixed ones like the 2010 and 2011 F10s. Maybe they had a design flaw...not sure but I found it quite interesting.

for the benefit of others to understand what is auto open/close vs fix radiator fins
i believe all current batch of F10 comes with fix radiator fins

Mai scare me leh....Mine is still automatic radiator fin... Anyway also gd la... can give me excuse to go bimshop to install the air scoop

the picture already illustrates that automatic open/close fins cannot (X) install air scoop

didn't you see the picture illustrates that open/close fins cannot (X) install air scoop?

i noe, so meaning if PML have design flaw and wan to remove, i dont mind...

.. bo dai chi i rather keep it cos its unique actually. Wen kill engine, the fin auto close. Looks more sart....

I got my F10 two months ago. It has an automatic radiator fins.

going pml to bang table liao. why my 2 weeks old ride comes with fix fins
blaming the fins for my poor FC and probably loss 0.1bhp due to poorer aerodynamics

I think pml knows that you are going to do the air scoop mod so give you the fixed fins. Should Thank them instead

Last time my 523 have the active air flap but 520 dun have

Seems like a cool feature, wonder why they would remove it.
mine have it, initially I thought to prevent debris lol. Now wiser after saw the vid.
