Any idea why used E90s have such low depreciation at $12~$14k/year?

Low COE during that period? My E60 depreciation only 13K/year also

Re: Buying 2nd hand BMW

Hi all, I just this forum because doing some research first. I am looking at getting a 10 year old X3 E83. Milage looks to be quite reasonable at just over 100k. I just want to gather some views on what to look out for if i were to commit to this. Regular maintenance is understandable. Changing parts...I also gather is almost mandatory but would like to know what are the parts to look out for and if there is engine oil burning, any tell tale signs etc. I just want to make sure i get the cost right so that I dont jump in and then get blind sided by a lemon. I understand that there is no guarantees in life...but Im hoping by doing all this, I at the very least do my due diligence and mitigate some of the risk. Appreciate any feedback.

Send it to a BMW specialist WS like R2D, BVO etc for a pre purchase check first before committing to the buy would be your best bet.

The "old" X3 can be a keeper if you can find a well maintained specimen.

Re: Buying 2nd hand BMW

Hi all,

Rod here, currently driving a honda accord CL7 for past 5 years (drove abt 160000km), going to expire in Apr 17, as such is looking at getting a 2nd hand car. Previous rides include 91' Starlet, 04' Lancer and 06' Latio, all 2nd hand. I'm more on the economical mode, low down-payment with reasonable OMV type of car. The current market, wife advise me to look at conti as it make more economical sense to get a 2nd hand with high omv to drive for 2-3 years (plus her frens are changing to 2nd hand conti as well...), thus join this forum for some advise for bmw, was looking at a few option

- 08'-10' 520, X3
- 08'-10' A6, Q5
- camry or forester (i had grew comfortable with Jap build, and always timely done my servicing, standard wear and tear repair)
(after joining the audi forum and reading through, had since dropped the idea for an audi...)

Utility-wise, very heavy usage, needed a decent car, large enough to bring 2 kids (aged 3 and 5mths) n wife n maid n a lot barang barang daily between home, sch, care-taker place etc...

looking forward to any kind soul for pointers.

Conti models have lower depreciation but need to set aside some funds for repairs and wear & tear.

Liqui Moly oil...

cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers

Revol AMK below 200 for Mobil oil change. Shell is even cheaper. - randy

BVO OWS is not bad, at half the price of PML shell oil change. - Tay

I've been to all 3 and frankly find PML is overpriced, unless you need the 'service record'

I believe all are site sponsors

Dear Taiko
Can help?
Reputable workshop told me mileage tampered.

Like winding up a watch, cannot help. Just drive and repair any worn out parts as we go along

U need it documented that it has been tampered. Are u going to claim against the 2nd hand dealer?
