c200k vs 523i

Hi guys,

I'm stuck between these 2 choices.

The New Mercedes C200 K

or

BMW 523i

Which of these two do you guys think is a better buy ??

IMHO: 4 cylinders twinpulse engines suck eggs.

You are comparing eggs to tomatoes though. Take the e240 vs 523 vs GS300 and you'd have a better comparison basis.

Hi bro i too was in a siliar sort of situation as you except that i was comparing the e200k, e230 and 523i and i can tell you that i am very happy that i made the decision of getting the 523i.

Basically in my opinion mercedes has more comfortable seats but besides that, the 523i is better in most of the other aspects. Especially in the drive itself.

The latest issue of UK What Car magazine has detailed comparison of new C class vs E90 vs Audi A4 vs Lexus IS. E90 has more rear leg room than new C class!

523i and C class are in different categories -- not comparing apple to apple.

The supercharged 1.8 litre engine performs but is not smooth. Image wise C class is in the compact executive category as E90.

Well, I guess you need to test drive to decide which is more attractive to you.

Yo, C-Class is not in 5-series league! U should be comparing E-Class w 5-series, then again 4-pot engine also not in 6-pot engine league! U should be comparing E230 w 523i, I have both but like the BMW a bit bit more.

Yeah, E-Class is to fetch my in-laws; whereas 523i is to pick my gfs! :nehnehhh:

The new C-Class! It does look so much muscular than the model it replaces! Now the C63 AMG is a MONSTER!

BUT, the C63 even though impressive in isolation, is not too far off from the CLK63 Black Series DTM-like monster. Wow I fell in love with that one. How can C63 even sell in the face of the excellent CLK63 ???

4 doors? Stiffer? Machiam like DTM cars where most are saloons?

But between the new C-Class & the 523i, the reason for picking the C is cuz its a newer model and it does look so much nicer IMO.

utterly agreed. The new C is just beautiful.

Only reservation is that the new C is still based on the old W203 chassis though. So it's not really ALL-NEW as they say. But perhaps the old one was already quite good...

Oh, didn't know that about the C-Class using previous chassis technology... But judging from reviews online and in mags, the C-Class is definitely a keeper... Can't wait to test one!

initially i perfered the c200 to the 523i as i felt that the 523i was abit big for me. but upon seeing a 523i with ACS bodykit fitted on, my views changed totally. think i would be getting the 523. thanks guys !

tested my fren c, bought brand new, only about 2 yrs old, engine vibrates when about to stop, nothing beats the ultimate driving machine.

Only CL204 is based on W203 whereas W204 is a brand new platform.
