Concur!

I sold off Nikon D70s because the pic quality is so much better.

Re: Camera Thread

Me love take photo too...

If you want a good camera buy this...

For compact, just buy any M4/3 like this. Very nice to play with...

Re: Camera Thread

anyone use or heard of Olympus OM-D E-M5

Re: Camera Thread

OMD has very good reviews. Some say it is the best micro 4/3 camera. You can check out: Steve Huff Photos - Real World Digital Camera And Lens Reviews

I have Fuji X100. Love it. It gives much better shots and superior colours than my Canon 5D Mk2
- Excellent F2 lens
- Amazing colours, wonderful bokeh
- Superb hybrid view finders
- Joy to use: Lovely manual Aperture, Shutter and EV controls
- Fantastic low light IQ
- Only downside is a fixed 35mm prime (no zoom), but you soon learn to adapt your style to the limitation

I was in the US and Kenya recently, ended up getting more great shots using my X100 than my 5D Mk2.

Re: Camera Thread

And then I will really suggest any full frame camera if size is not an issue...

Playing with DOF

...something that m4/3 like the OM-D cannot quite match...

Very nice DOF control.... which camera u using and using AP or DOF dedicated control?

Re: Camera Thread

Personally I don't like Micro 4/3 cameras...neither here nor there...I have a Canon 60D for my DSLR, a waterproof Lumix for my play-play camera (that my children can run around with), and a prosumer camera (currently old Ricoh GX-100, thinking of getting Canon G12) for situations when I don't want to bring my DSLR but want good photos.

And I don't even consider myself a photography buff...just the right tool for the right situation.

Re: Camera Thread

I'm using an olympus ep2 paired with the lumix 20mm 1.7 prime lens and it is a really good micro 4/3 lens to have. Produces sharp images and crisp colours w/o breaking the bank.
