How the our goverment feel about this?
not shy meh, the flooding pictures look like they are from
some 3rd world country.

Gahmen already has an opinion liao. In a Sunday post on the VB's blog entitled "Focus of floods: 5 Key questions", the Minister also wrote "We are dealing with Nature, and Man needs to be humble when addressing the challenges that Nature poses".

5 KEY SOLUTIONS would be better than 5 key questions.....we don't need people to come up with questions after things happened, eg, boy stepped into longkang n drowned, flood @ tanglin mall.
i still received a crap letter from PUB saying they are constantly reminding building owners to lock their water tank after the maid murdered and dumped into water tank cases.
covering asses VS getting off their asses to improve things.....which is more impt??

A car submerged at the St Regis Residences' basement carpark. It was one of about 40 damaged by the flood waters on Sunday, according to Mr Song, whose BMW M3 was also hit. -- PHOTO: MATTHEW SONG

HE had bought it only two months earlier, so investment banker Matthew Song was not pleased when he discovered his $350,000 BMW M3 partially submerged in a basement carpark.
Mr Song said his vehicle was one of about 40 damaged on Sunday when water poured into the St Regis Residences condominium in Tanglin Road. They included an Aston Martin and two Bentleys, as well as Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
There was one consolation for Mr Song, however. At least he had paid the $3,000 annual premium to insure his car.
The 33-year-old's vehicle has been towed away, while he waits for the damage assessment to be sent to him.
'It is a great inconvenience, but at least I can get something back, even though the car is not going to be the same again,' he said.
He is not the only one who will be breathing a sigh of relief.

To avoid the problems like what the Porker is expeirencing - some people actually have jacks and stands ready in the car so that they can jack their car up and put the car up on stands the moment the flood alarm goes...............not kidding.

Damage will most likely be covered by insurance

“If you have a flood, just carefully think who is more likely to get the drainage put right and have the flood alleviated as quickly as possible: A PAP candidate with links to the ministers and Prime Minister, or a non-PAP candidate who has become an MP, like in Potong Pasir or Hougang, and who has to manage on his own?”

“That’s a fact of life.”

That was before they had the downtown mrt line (especially near the bukit timah area and the construction that goes with it ..............

I suggest we re-educate ourselves that gravity is not a factor of water flow and humbly learn from our nippon friends who are calm and polite in face of "natural disaster" while seeing our cars and houses (apart from hdbs) disappear in the murky waters in future..

I heard motor insurance companies usually compensate based on good will as it is an act of god. If that's true, very risky for car-owners man... and i wonder the renewal premium will have loading or not... knn, don't park basement carpark... hahaha
