Change new brake disc and new brake pad, I was charged with brake cleaner too.

Hi gurus,

I just changed new brake disc and new brake pad, I was charged for brake cleaner in the bill. I do not mind the $15.85 but just do not want to be treated like a carrot for the workshop to chop.

Question if I am changing brand new disc and new brake pad why do i need brake cleaner? Anyone here knows?

Hmmm,ur not suppose to pay for it cos u never ask for brake cleaner.Same thing goes when u go for a car wash do they charge u for the shampoo?

My experience; I was never charged for e brake cleaner... well maybe it was already embedded into the disc n pad or e labour charge (unless price inclusive installation) already covered the issue, who knows.

Think the focus should be new brake disc and pad, why need brake cleaner...unless cleaner is used to clean something else...why dont ask the workshop?
