definitely you change more often better. Some Volvo which has been driven 1M miles always change mineral oil at 3K km for the past 25 years and engine still going strong. But lubes are incredibly bad for the environment and therefore comes the variable servicing system introduced by Mercedes Benz Assyst and BMW's version.
The sensors in the sump actually analyze the oil quality for conductivity, and if there is metal inside, then they will accelerate your service interval. Problem is that these sensors are never failsafe.
It might be a good idea to override failsafe, but honestly .... your car will eventually after 5years plus be exported, you will never realise the benefits of changing oil so regularly yourself. 10-15 years down the road, the guy who bought your car in Kazaksthan will probably face this issue, but not you.
So, since it doesn't affect you at all, and save you money, and save the environment, why not just follow the variable servicing schedule.
