Cross v PSS9

I've always used Bilstein PSS9 coilovers and found them to be excellent. I've heard a lot of guys switching to JIC Cross. I'm redoing the suspension and gonna try Joons Z3 steering Mod, are the Cross coilovers worth paying the extra wonga? If so why? I don't intend building a track monster but do like the odd weekend blast at PG or Sepang Unless there is a very good reason to do so I reckon on sticking with PSS9

Cheers

Re: Cross v PSS9

PSS9 on E36 seems pretty good at least the front spring is not so progressive type unlike in the E46 / E90

some users apparently experience tok tok tok sound on JIC.
The ball !!! But small issue.......

Re: Cross v PSS9

mine so far no tok tok sound, very quiet in fact
i had ek ek sound on my PSS9 before, some kind of spring bites

Re: Cross v PSS9

actually, putting on JIC cross doesn't mean you are going for track (there are even monster suspension setup for track in the market).. it's the ride quality that you are after.. I have changed countless set of suspension during the 4 years with the e46.. i still like the cross for ride comfort and handling..the suspension is able to absorb bumps better on the road..

price wise, i'm not sure how much PSS9/10 & JIC cost now.. but if it fits your budget, then I say go for it. Or try taxi a car with PSS9 then hop over to one with JIC, then decide from there..

Ai corner mai?.. Jack say one

Re: Cross v PSS9

Cross is good but I need to go somewhere to fine-tune the settings for my car. Papadan, you know where I can go?

With Cross, every bumpon the road becomes very pronounced which is the way it's supposed to be and the car isn't bouncing anymore but frankly, if you're already on PSS9 and enjoying it and see no reason why the upgrade, you don't have to jump on the bandwagon. We can only testify based on our own experience that we love it but our needs are afterall different. Handling becomes awesome esp mine is a FWD but on a Bimmer, you're already advantaged on the RWD. That's all I can say...

have your swept the floor today?

go back to your kitchen!

Re: Cross v PSS9

fine tune as in test the car? OG can already.. ask Kenn bring u.. haha

what setting are you on? Depending on your spring (I am using 12kg), setting 5-6 is very comfy for daily drive.. turn to 14 for track :yummie:

I have zero idea cuz I bought mine second hand and was using the other guy's settings... Still could go harder I think...

Re: Cross v PSS9

Yeah...J4C have been telling me about the CROSS coilover setup for my e64. Supposedly less expensive than KWs and Bilstein. But these tok tok and ekk ekk sounds are starting to worry me.
