even for rear ended sibei clear cut scenarios, pml will still claim 1st party insurance first for the repair to begin.
then let the case take its time to settle and if claim 3rd party successful (hopefully 100% claim), it will reimburse to insurance and you pray hard it did not affect your ncd. at least that is what i have been told.

Yup, that's the norm I heard from quite a few bros who had their insurance claim done by pml.
1st claim their own then claim other party.

I know many distributors, including PML does not do third party claims. When I got rear ended in my maser, I went to hong seh and they dont do third party too. I claimed my own insurance, paid up excess of $10k, paid up in cash my car rental for the duration of the period of several thousand dollars, and afterwards, had to go to AIG to claim all my monies back from the fella who banged me.

I'm not sure if there is any AD in singapore that does 3rd party claims. got or not I'm curious. I agree that one would expect them to provide this service but I have an impression everyone's not doing it, so nobody feels guilty about not doing it. I was disappointed of course, but it was a case of LPPL coz I cant even go to any other workshops to repair my car, no parts.

i think all other AD might do the same. claim 1st then claim 3rd party as reimbursement.
company benefit comes first. from company's point of view, it's fair because insurance can be sibei "tricky". even you got all pictures, videos, right of way, it does not guarantee can claim 100% ... if can claim 80/90% ... who bear the remaining 10/20% cost and insurance claim takes months and sometime year

it's too bad for singapore customer because company's interest comes 1st and consumer interest comes 2nd (last)

Actually this is true of all car distributors la.. I would like tp bash PML too but not this occasion. Even See n See... when someone knocked into my parked car n left a note admitting liability, they still would not start repair until the other party insurance admits lability. All birds of same feather....

Wow, this is a really good point. So in general 3rd party claim IS tricky....

I must say I too expected it and find it a let down as far as service level is concern.

Yes, but don't move house eh. Apparently the news letter and BMW magazine have 2 different database.

You can update your address and they will send you the wonderful new letters with all the events they you were NOT invited to. But I have never received any more of the BMW magazine even after sending in the change of address form.

Chapter 2: They barely remember you as a customer.

Chapter 2: They barely remember you as a customer

Perhaps it was just a series of unfortunate events. But happened to me and I conclude that PML's marketing database SUCKs

In the 5th year of my E46, I was looking out for the new E90. My sales girl had left, I bump into a sales man at Bukit TImah and indicated my interest in the E90.
One day I was driving past the Padang, and realized the the E90 was launched! Wow, no news letter, not invitation, not one even called! I called up the sales guy, "Of course I remember you! Come la, just drop by... we at the Padang." No sincerity at all, totally left a bad taste... I told him I had to go somewhere else, but since the straight six was not in yet, kindly let me know when it's here.

Months go by, heard that the 325/323 were in, no one called. I was pissed. I actually walked into PML Alexandra, ask Brandon (good guy, left too) from the accessories departement to recommend me a sales person, sat down and bought the 323 on the spot.

Last year or so, new 5 series. Again my sale lady left (she went on to sell houses), I bumped into a sales girl whom sold a French car to my wife awhile back. I told her I'm interested with the 5er and let me know when it's in. Weeks then months go by, then I read about the fabulous launch event for the 5er. Then same story with the 6er... Oh this time they sent the invite to my old address, which I have updated them abut 3 times in total?

Thumbs up for those of you who already started PI BMWs. It just sucks to be a PML customer. Because whatever you expect from buying from a authorized distributor, simply DOES NOT exist. They are so cheap that they charge you for dropping by to check out their cars.

My wife owns a C class from C&C, we attended more events by C&C in a year that the 10 years I own 2 cars from PML. I rest my case.

For chapter 1 of the TS' story, I can corroborate what Bro Racebred said, and confirm that the same shit happened to me during my time with C&C when I got rear ended by an Evo - 2 weeks after I took delivery of my W211. Sibei heart pain, but what to do? They also won't do 3rd party claim - got me to claim from my own insurance, then, my own insurers pursued the claim from the rear-ender's own insurers. Thankfully mine was a 100% clear cut open and close case, so I kept the max NCD.

HOWEVER, the way C&C went about it was very different from PML, truth be told - they assigned a specific agent to look after my case, and gave me updates until my car was repaired. Very different from the jack-all that didn't happen at PML.

I thought your complain with PML was about their lousy service - like how they can so-called service your car, only for you to find that they didn't fix FCUK-ALL, or how they could LOSE YOUR CAR KEY after a service.

But maybe that's reserved for chapters Akan Datang... I wait for more stories :)

only reason i went for pi is the cost saving and nothing else :lol2: to the extent that i ask for more discount and forgo the warranty i makan myself i know its a risk but then i am willing to take it :D

PRECISELY!!!! You even get a breakfast voucher to take breakfast while waiting right?

At PML, I arrived about 11 plus. 1 hour later I ask the reception how much longer, she said "Oh, most of them went for lunch, probably back 1 plus." !!!! And the customer is left hungry waiting for his queue number to be called! Service is out of this world man....
