Hi Lee

Great you are looking at a E60. The 525 has active steering & adaptive headlights. Expensive if these malfunction & have to be replaced. 523 is good enough just lup in a Powerbox.

520 engine has not enough power to move the heavy chasis. I just had a chance to test drive a bro's 520 last week with 20" tires.. it felt like a block of heavy metal powered by a small electric engine (can hardly get moving from standstill).

I've been driving my 523 for 5 years. Love the car. Gearbox jerkiness when coming to a stop was resolved with a software update though workshops have told me must change gear box solenoid etc. Now smooth as silk. Guess it very much dpends on your maintenance regime. Lately there has been quite many cars which had issues popping up right after handover to new owners. All cases of poor maintenance (if any). Always have a potential car thoroughly checked by reputable workshop chief mechanic before you pay that deposit.

Talk to more E60 bros. Am sure there are many who will say E60 rocks.
