Re: Do you regret buying BMW from PML?
that's def a plus point for PML... the free tow svc as long as within 10 yrs of purchase. Tho you have to contend with (probably) higher repair charges.
about 5 years back, I once called up J4C when my car's fuel pump broke. Amos was still at the shop daily then, and he was v helpful. Even offering to arrange for tow truck to pick up my car from PML (cos it had been towed there already) and do the repairs w him. Understandably, he said he would charge for the tow svc. I didn't do the repair with them cos of the hassle outweighing the cost savings, but he left a good impression on me.
Last year, a friend's family car was past warranty so i recommended an ext workshop to them and they started patronizing them. Then one day when i was at their home, his mom drove home and suddenly water started pooling below the car. Called up the ext workshop and they seemed to know what part had gave way. Actually, they had detected a crack during a recent inspection but deemed it safe to leave it's replacement for later. damn suay, but maybe they thought can save the owner some money.
so anyway, they gave a tow truck contact, but the tow guy didn't want to bring a flatbed without extra charge. Since the workshop was in those multi story carpark sort of buildings, the parents tried to contact the workshop manager again for advice. Manager didn't answer, nor did he respond to handphone voicemail left. Mind you, this was sat afternoon, and the workshop was already aware the owners needed help. Other workshops would have been closed by this time, resulting in the car being stranded till Monday. Finally, they called PML since the ext workshop totally never bother to call back.
PML sent a service mobile to chk the car, and they topped up water so that the tow truck could drive it safely into position for the flatbed. On Monday, CSA called to say they'd try to fix it within the day, and they did.
From then on I made a mental note to just call PML when experiencing such breakdowns. That is hardly the time you wanna get stranded by your mechanic. To me, the hasslefree experience in that situ is worth the premium.
