E60 M5 Gearknob & Center console conversion!!!

Hi guys!!

Here's another update of my mods......kekekeke

A super mega thanks to Billy from Juzz4cars for helping me getting it done!!!

I've finally got my M5 center console & the gearknob wired up with lights!!

All the buttons lighted up too!!

Pics showing above in 'N' & below in 'R'

Below shows when gear is in 'D'

But I wanted more than just lights.....kekeke

I wanted to use the 'POWER' button to activate the gear change to DS mode so that I can immediately use my paddles to shift manually rather than having to shift the gear to the left in order to go into DS mode!!

Billy went into deep study of the BMW wiring diagrams & built a circuit to help me fullfill my project.

Waalaa, after 2 days.....he custom made a circuit & made the 'POWER' button to activate & deactivate the steptronic from 'D' to 'DS' by just pressing it!!!!

Billy is a genius in electronics.....kudos to him!!!

This mod is so cool as I drive my car in manual everyday.

Just shift to 'D', press the 'POWER' button & click on my paddles to shift manually.....lazy or when I want to just drive in auto.....just press the 'POWER' button again & it'll go back into 'D' mode.

Next will be the 'DSC' button on the center console......will get Billy to get both the 'DSC' buttons to work!!!

(one on the vertical panel & the other on the gearknob console)

Yo Bro, u should have get that done much earlier in order to match ur ride mah. Its simply NICE. Hey, one mod for u to tinker. Change ur instrument cluster to a M5 one. Mike had done a few cars liao. Nep shot!

bro..can go to park and reverse still...no prob..

wilson... M5 instrument cluster... mai tu liao... u need the speedo man... im sure ur car clear meter of ur current speedo

Today was first time I actually have a look inside Wilson's ride...definitely one of the best looking E60 I've ever seen. This new gear shift & console mod just added more points to the cool factor! hahaha..

just curious, is your gearbox a conventional one like all the other 525s?

I think it is not a problem to get to "Park", but for sure it cannot get into "DS" steptronic mode, thus you have to utilise the "Power" button to get into DS. I believed you cannot up/down shift on the gear lever anymore. So both the steering and gear lever has to come together to work, not the gear lever alone.
