motoxxx55;929022 said:The M/S & DS mode is different from this Sports mode.
This Sports mode is done by hooking up a switch to 2pins of an existing socket.
Those 2pins are left nt connected by default on e60.
We can also buy the original Sports switch fr PML.
3rd pin is required if your switch is illuminated.

This is a good discovery...motoxxx55;929037 said:Heavier/tighter steering wheel feel, faster shifts in higher rpms & more sensitive throttle.
Thats what i read...

Even higher shift rpm and heavier steering feel ..

There is a long thread on this on 5series.net under "the way e60 was meant to be"
Seem like pretty good reviews from those that DIY.
Mine is a early Pre-LCI, so not sure if it works.

The button is still 'lose'.
Did'nt want to drill holes only to find that I don't like it or it does'nt work.
I'll take my time in deciding on where to anchor it or if I should change the button to a nicer one..
Current button is a $3.50 hack job..
Ct13;935090 said:Please do keep us update, from the link from you. Think LCI model also possible to do the sport mode. I can't register with that forum so i can't open the attached file.
Is it difficult to DIY?

Philster;935122 said:LCI model is more difficult cuz the wiring is from a control box situated behind the glove box and above the fuse box. There are lots of cables to navigate but many have been successful according to the posts below.
