Re: E90 320i - Transmission jerky when slowing

Hi All,

just wanted to post a quick update on my jerk, engine stall and starting issue....a quick visit (with an Appointment :) ) to R2D solved the issue....what a relief.

Issue was the Cam-Shaft sensor....which was replaced by Dr.Rod....and he reset the O2 alarm. Didn't need to replace the O2 sensor as the fault indicated it was heating and not faulty. The fault was cleared and and did not come up again, hence the alram was just cleared. Phew!

Car is back to being POwerful...and indeed Sheer Driving Pleasure....
Kudos to R2D....Genuine to the core....with Superb Service.

also yesterday got my Front Wheel Bearings Changed as i am on the path of reducing the unwanted sound/Noise of the ride (with the hope of achieving Inner Peace) due to wear and tear.

Cheers.....

My 320i also had intermittent jerk if I go slightly heavy foot. Now has to drive with very light foot like a sissy. I has be very busy and need to find time to send for troubleshoot.

Hi Bro,

R2D is good as they operate in the evening and upto wee hours in the morning (used to be from 6pm-2am or so) and now they are open earlier....so it is good for those who can't make it for normal workshop hours. Suggest that you give them a ring and book an appointment. so that Rod can actually check what is wrong....could be other things as well.

Will PM u the damage for the Cam Shaft Sensor.

Cheers

Re: E90 320i - Transmission jerky when slowing

Hi guys!

Am driving the MINI (R56 LCi) model, and have been experiencing this 'jerky' issue whenever I brake to a stop or accelerate.
After a lot of ding-dong here & there, I had my gearbox & driveshafts replaced (or so it was said to me then). Sad thing is, the jerks are still present.
Had it checked further, and it was deduced that my ride is having the driveshaft backlash symptom.

Re: E90 320i - Transmission jerky when slowing

Just checking with fellow forummers.....has anyone need to replace the accentric shaft sensor twice within 3 years....
replace about 3 years ago due to jerk.......now can feel the same jerk again....aiyo sensor alone cost SGD500 plus.......have not include labor and gasket.....jia lat.

Re: E90 320i - Transmission jerky when slowing

Hi I had the infamous and infernal "one time jerk when stopping" my E90. It was happening so frequently it was was irritating.

I sent it in to BVO. Mr. Wee did a program reset.

The problem is gone now.

Cheers all

I think software upgrade. Only PML can do.

Gearbox software programming. I heard Boss also can do. The expert at Boss told me got 4 type of software gearbox change condition for E90. More torque or less torque which will translate to the jerk or not.

But it will also depend whether your ride got hardware fault or not. Must do diagnostic first.

Already book appointment with them. But the expert balik kampung. Will only come back after 2 weeks.

If you got it done at BVO and manage to fix the problem. Let us know.

Cheers.

Re: E90 320i - Transmission jerky when slowing

Hi

I was doing a bunch of other stuff. changing hoses and rubber rings and stuff due to the usual oil leaks so it took a full day.

I dont think you need that long just to do the "reset".

Apparently this is a very common issue. The moment i mentioned it, Mr. Wee said "yeap, common issue. We will resolve it"

When i got the car back, the reset was done, and the problem was gone.

Cheers

Re: E90 320i - Transmission jerky when slowing

Hi, can anyone msg me Mr Wee Contact and what is the damage? The jerky issue getting worst especially cost start. sigh! This happen whenever I leave my car for more than 8 hours.

Btw, does all E90 owners encounter this issue? is it common? Intend to get facelifted E90 but the problem scares me off.

I have more other issue and almost visit the workshop for every 2 weeks.
