Re: ECU Remap
what I've found:
ESS Direct Flash DIY software now available !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are pleased to announce that our Direct Flash DIY OBD flash tool is now available for the E9X M3.
Direct Flash allows the end user the ability of tuning their vehicle without removing the ECU, driving to a dealer or having the downtime typically associated with tuning. We wanted to wait to release Direct Flash for the E9X M3 until we could do it right. One major feature we wanted to include was the ability of tuning the most recent factory versions of tuner protected software instead of having to backdate the vehicle to older versions of operating software in order to get around tuner protection. Tuning the most recent versions of factory software gives you the ability to have all of the latest features and functionality from the factory and enjoy the added performance of tuning. We have spent the last few months working on having this feature available for the release of Direct Flash to the E9X M3 community.
E9X M3 Direct Flash is now available to order from our website and authorized dealer network!
ESS E9X M3 software via Direct Flash offers the following features:
-Store up to 10 tunes " including original factory".
-Instant access to map switching.
-No vehicle downtime.
-Tuning of the most recent versions of factory software.
-Software Updates available via email.
-Removal of cold start cat heat cycle for caltless / high flow exhaust.
-Removed top speed governor.
-Raised RPM limit
-Reprogrammed throttle response.
-Reprogrammed torque management.
-Reprogrammed ignition, vanos and fuel parameters for optimum performance.
Custom tuning available by request.
Does the tune still retain the anti-knock feature from BMW?
Like the 93 tune, what happens if you have to use 91 or even 87. Will the engine still delay timing?
Yes, ESS never removes the anti-knock systems or margins. We never force timing or modify allowed cylinder noise levels. If you fill lower grade fuel by accident, the ECU will adapt and run perfectly safe.
Is that true? Leaving the rev limit alone it is 100% undetectable by anyone from BMW? I am not talking about dealer techs I am talking about Regional reps for even BMW HQ in Germany in the event that the motor was to blow and a warranty claim was put in and BMW decided to investigate it that thoroughly
The ECU will be 100% stock when returned to the original settings. However, in the event of an engine problem on a modified car I do not think a warranty claim should be initiated with BMW as it is no longer their responsability. We have never had a single failure from NA tuning in our 16 year history, but if full warranty coverage is important to you, I would look into an aftermarket warranty plan instead and keep it honest.
