in a few months times or a yr time....the feeling of seeing e60s ( be it M or not ) on the road would be like those e39s right now......for me , not very shiok....just my 2cents.
yes this is my biggest concern (even though I just renewed E39 COE), but feeling wise, very difficult to gauge whether this tak shiok feeling will surface (on a 300k car no less). It's just like seeing those prev gen SL55 on the road, with the double circle headlights. You know it's a top of the range car, but a bit tak shiok. Or seeing those CLK DTMs, a $1m car, but the 4 circle headlights scream Yesteryear.
However when it comes to bmw, when I see an E46, it feels like off-season look, but, when I see the E46M3, it still looks good. This is a really horrible dilemma. The E60M5 could go on to be a cult car in the near future.
What Terry says make a lot of sense too, shapes like those from ferrari dont go outdated. Maybe because the numbers on the road are not big enough to be lodged into our memory, as today's fashion, or tomorrow's fashion.
Case in point, take a look at cars with low numbers on the roads, like Jaguar. Their cars never really go outdated coz there isnt enough numbers of new cars on the roads to permanently register in our brain which one is on-season and which is off.
