Re: F10 Newbie wants to upgrade rims

My 2cents worth: Go for at least 20" or 21". Dont go for 19". I'm using 19" M5 rims and had been regretting till today. The wheel arch is so much bigger which makes my 19" so small. My brother just installed his 20" and its just decent. Not too big but he wished he had ordered 21".

Just as a guide for you to see how an actual 19" look on standard suspension height.

Thanks mI5775. I think I'm more or less decided to go with a 20" Breyton.

I have a set of breyton GTS to sell... Ai mai?

Hi guys,

i will be collecting my F10 in a couple of weeks time and 1st thing i would like to do is to upgrade the wheels. Few things on my head :

1) Is it advisable to go straight from 17 inch to 19 inch?
2) Any good dealer i can go to for Vossen or Breyton?
3) Do they do trade-in if i drive straight from collection to the workshop?
4) Finally, what is the estimated damage (after trade-in)?

Can't wait for the car to arrive....

I'd go with 21" if I were you. I'm regretting the fact that I got myself an 20". The car's too low and really hard to drive.

Re: F10 Newbie wants to upgrade rims

Some pp said the new 520I was much heavy
Therefore runflat tyre if go above 18"
the car not stable when we release Accelerator
Is this true ?

LOL I should, the front bumper height is only 5 fingers tall. Perfect stance = torture. LOL

How much height difference can you get between 20" & 21"??

Something is wrong if there is a difference

Re: F10 Newbie wants to upgrade rims

depends on the wheel and tyre specs that might affect the total circumference and diameter?

You mean can over or under size by so much till there is a noticable diff in ride height ?

Re: F10 Newbie wants to upgrade rims

17" with profile 50/50 probably looks higher than 20" with profile 35/30
if measured i think 17" probably sit higher
one thing for sure is bigger rim does not make higher ride due to lower profile tyre (most likely lower)

Re: F10 Newbie wants to upgrade rims

I'd go with forged 21" or if you really want to be extreme 22"!

Tyres are easier to get in 22" rather than 21". IMO 20" are too small on the F10.

I'm taken in by the Vorsteiner look presently :yummie: which are 21". Don't forget your Brembos!
