based on current trend, future x35i highly be 4pot turbo hor ... higher boost

That trend seems like the JDM route over the last 15 years....... Stricter emissions, smaller engines, higher boost, no fun. Just look at how the cheebics have died locally since their heyday in the 90s

i read somewhere u paid 200k for ur 328i.. thats a very good price.

coming from a merc c180, i wun consider a 316. thats too lateral an upgrade. thanks for the tip re the build quaility- its very disappointing that we pay a fortune to deal with this. i wun consider 328 a flagship. the true beemer flagship would have to be a 7 series, and if you wan to compare within model- it would have to be the m3 gts for the 3ers, no less. lol

I used to drive a C180 too.
The biggest upgrade u will get from 328 compare to C180 is not only power handling what so ever performance, is the fact that it makes u look younger...

Anyway, I think u can imagine how hard I crack my brain when I did the decision to change from C180 to 328i. I can actually get a 5 series 520 at same price or top up 20k get a 528 (528 really sucks in cantooness)
Finally I decided to go for F30 for the sportiness and young look. To me, I say to myself, either compact sports sedan/Coupe or 7 series/S class, never go in-between.

so far 328 serve me well.

BTW 4 series coupe on sale in North America already I think, damn nice....

Re: f30 328

just my humble opinion.
520 or 523 looks like underpowered to me for a big car like 5 series.
people who buy 5 series have more purchasing power so they can top up a bit more to get 528.
520 and 528 same road tax.
f80 m3 road tax is $2300.
m5 road tax is $4400
$2100 can be better used on car maintenance, why let LTA collect more money from you.

why not 520 or M5 based on your logic
328 price close to 520 ... 528 need to top up

Re: f30 328

245bhp and 350Nm is indeed sweet spot for a big ass 5-ers
it would be even sweeter if bmw release the power kit for x28i to bump up the performance to 300bhp and 400Nm just like they did for x25i but i guess they are reluctant to do so to protect the N55 sales which is already threaten by x28i ... LOL

But ppl who go for M5 will not bother about the $2100 diff in road tax.
What is $2k to $500k ?
If they mind, then they might as well get a 528/535 and mod the hell out of it.

If a person drives stock M3 to meetup people will still say "wa, look so stock", so end up he will still mod LOL

Re: f30 328

In my opinion, 328's engine is good. BMW has managed to squeeze out more power from a 2L, so make good use of the opportunity to own a car with reasonably good power and fuel efficient.

Tiak tiak tiak nevermind, because 5 years later 70-80% of BMWs in Singapore will be tiak tiak tiak, after the N52s and N54s are scrapped or exported. davidtch say one :nehnehhh:
