Wah lau, That day I still ya-ya tell some haidees my new tyres 235 front n 275 rear doesnt rub.

I just realised if I turn the steering fully to the right or left, the FRONT tyres touches the inside of the wheel arch. Ie when steering is turned to the right max, the left front tyre touches the front area of the inner wheel arch. I did a hard-core 3 point turn and heard some rubbing:( . So how leh:juggle:

Re: Front tyre rubbed inner wheel arch !

ABD, time to roll your fenders. :D

Re: Front tyre rubbed inner wheel arch !

Ah, does it sound like it's touching the inner wheel well (the upper plastic arch portion) that seperates the engine bay? Maybe you want to examine the inner well when you are parked with the wheels turned full locked.

Re: Front tyre rubbed inner wheel arch !

You cant roll the fenders for the front for the E92. Its a plastic fender!!

Ah yes, forgot that this part on the E92 is high-strength plastic!

Re: Front tyre rubbed inner wheel arch !

confirmed front offset too aggressive. I remember you mention +28 or + 30...

Re: Front tyre rubbed inner wheel arch !

The only culprit is the wheel offset, nothing else

Re: Front tyre rubbed inner wheel arch !

so offset 35 front with 235 tires wont rub?

Re: Front tyre rubbed inner wheel arch !

I doubt 235/35/19 with offset +35 will rub. Another way is to get rounder tirewall tires :)

sure rub-free. unless u slam it till that tire inside your fender. or else with almost zero finger gap still it won't rub at all.

Re: Front tyre rubbed inner wheel arch !

whats the wheel size?

if its 8j...use 225

if its 8.5j and aggresive offset... just use 225... not within recommended setting... but not exactly unsafe

Re: Front tyre rubbed inner wheel arch !

My front is 235/40/18 and wheel gap is zero finger spacing.
Fenders already covering tire but still no rubbing...
It touches only when i full-lock with me in the car. maybe cause i too fat. :S

what do you mean by plastic fender? The front got meh?

Anyways, Juzz for Cars fixed it. My oh my, took one day leave n they boyz spent almost 1 day to fix it up. The cold air intake pipes had to be adjusted and that requires a longer silicon tube that cost yours truly $80. Wow this is the most expensive rubber/silicon pipe I ever paid for:laughlik: . Eseentially those stuffs were moved about 1 inch forward which free up space for the guys to mod the inner wheel well an inch forward...so now left wheel no rubbing.

But wait, new problem, now I also found right side is sightly rubbing:furious: but it only happens when I fully turn the steering 100% n hold it when I do reverse. Else its ok. So it seems alright now.

Errr, guys next time u all want to get aggressive offset n lower yr ride, better think trice first. Dont be like ABD.
