Don't be alarm with the fuel consumption. IMHO, it should be normal. As compare to 320, it has poorer pwr to weight. Weight of E90 4 potter should be around 1.5t.
OMG...so the 12km/L claimed by BMW is really a data taken on autobahn ...hai...when i was about to buy the car, i tot i can at least hit 10km/L ....HAI...I try not to drive too much for fear that this car will land up like my last car. ( 130,000 km in 3 years...hehhehe)

That reading aint accurate. Just treat it as a gauge. Best to pump full tank, reset trip meter, drive till almost empty and see how far u have gone. Do your math with your tank capacity and u'll get a more accurrate reading.
Dear Bros,

anyone has any ideas on any real stuff that can save some fuel? i use to drive all jap cars and they all clock about 10-15km/L. Even my last cefirov6 also gave me a 10-11km/L ..so i am kinda shocked with this comsumption. Thank all who can give me some ideas in advance.

Re: Fuel Consumption

I think it reali depend on each drivg style on e accelerator, step all e way dwn or gradually move on. I had mine 10.+km/L for many mths...

Re: Fuel Consumption

for the consolation of all bros,

I'm driving a E90 318i like yours. Had never been able to get more than 8km/l for the first few months. 90% city driving.

One way to improve: drive when there are not much traffic :D :D smooth and non-stop like the wee hours ....sure to get yr consumption better

But after driving up North and really pushing it kinda helps improve after that, honestly...now getting ard 8-9km/l.

Of coz, I'm driving it in 'manual' mode 90% of the time. Try it n you'll see the difference.

Bro,

ok. i see that most bro here are also getting the same or slightly better mileage per litre. Guess i got to live with it and also try your style of planning hehehe..

Re: Fuel Consumption

I think the RFT tyres are the real culprit for high FC.

Got my 318i since early Apr. I used to clock 9km, 50% highway and city. I can't stand noisy ride and changed to Dunlop tyres and is now clocking average 10.5-11.5km in much quieter cabin with same 50% city & highway. My ride has Velocity installed with the 3rd Map switched on.

Re: Fuel Consumption

I just got my 2008 e90 320, i pump 56L of SPC grade 95 petrol, and it clock 520km before i have to pump again.

i am also thinking that one of the cause is the RFT. But due to my line of work, i cannot change to normal tyres as there is no spare for our cars. So got to stick to RFT...HAI....

Dear Bro,

u tried shell fuel save? I am doing a test to see if there is a gain in mileage as compared to SPC ...HHEHEEHE

Re: Fuel Consumption

buy a repair kit like airman and put inside the car, that should solve the problem of not having a spare, or u can try to install ride-on. heard that it is not too bad too.

As long as u r travelling on this island, there is no worry about no spare tyres. Juz get a flatbed to transport ur car loh.
