Re: Horizon Hills Semi-Ds
Well, if you are referring to the house layout - I think you already have a winner there. The design (at least off the plan anyway) is comparable to, if not just as good, to anything Singapore has to offer - and, given the greater land size area - may even be better in terms of living space!
I think the potential is there - it's a beautifully laid out plan, and it has great supporting 'players' - Malborough College will be a natural expat magnet where their kids will go to for their studies, and there's also the other Universities as well as being just a stone's throw from the new administrative capital of Johor, Kota Iskandar - it's a proper township - unlike the previous stand-alone attempts like Leisure Farms and Ledang Hills, and it is definitely closer to Singapore when compared to Nusa Bestari (which I also went to recon).
One potential downside to it (in my humble unlearned opinion) is that there are so many phases coming up. And we are not even talking about just within Nusajaya. Everywhere you look, there's a new township being created - if it's not more gated residences, it'll be new shophouses, new condos. Even older estates like Taman Pelangi, Jalan Pucong etc are not spared. I wonder what the effect will be, when/if all of these come on line in a few year's time - if you think our so called 100,000 units that are due in 2014/2015 sounds scary, well, you'd be terrified at the potential of over-flooding that will inevitably happen in Johor. Unless of course, all the PRCs decide to park their freshly laundered $ there instead of their more 'traditional' destinations hehe.
Also, half the amenities - as promising as they are - already bear the unmistakable hallmark of 'Malaysia Boleh': corruption. RM750 million was spent building Legoland (and it's still under construction at some parts) but, bro, have you seen their carpark? It's a fcuking disgrace, a royal joke. Not a single tree to cool things down, and the parking spaces are gravel traps carved out between lanes of bitumen. Talk about cutting corners. Honestly, Legoland doesn't look like a RM750 million development. I can't help but wonder how many palms were greased, how many backs were scratched and how many politician's pockets were lined along the way. Maybe that's why Anwar wants to get back onto the gravy train so badly.....
Having said that, it only took me less than 40 mins (including clearing light traffic encountered at both customs) to get from Horizon Hills back to Holland Road. And, apart from the crawl at our Tuas Complex' end (dunno why we can't open more counters - must be due to foreign labour hiring restrictions), it was a very pleasant drive.
If I had RM3.4 million in loose change jingling in my pocket, I'd be your neighbor bro - I reckon it's a good call on the whole, you just have to watch the timing to sell it before the rest of the units flood the market.
My 2 cents worth - and congrats again.
