That's true but we are so ready to "defend" his ( and most other opposition members) "silence" but show utmost disdain and contempt for the ruling party's MPs doing the same thing...like backbenchers..

Of coz I agree some senior members of pay and pay talk too much and should just shut the F up...

But, when Chen made a good speech once (on the budget, IIRC), some upshot PAP MP (Vikram something IIRC) launched into a diatribe of sorts, attacking all and sunder - including the speech maker, thus violating the first rule of debating - attack the proposal, not the proposer.

Like that, Chen sian 1/2 1/2 already, because so no standard... All fight dirty.

Workers' Party's Png Eng Huat has won the Hougang by-election with 13,447 votes against PAP's Desmond Choo's 8,210 votes.

The by-election was held to fill the seat vacated by former Member of Parliament Yaw Shin Leong, who was expelled from the Workers' Party following reports of his personal indiscretions.

Mr Yaw had won the seat in the May 2011 General Election with 64.8 per cent of the vote, against Mr Choo's 35.20 percent.
