How do you clean leather seats?

You are only supposed to use the BMW leather lotion twice a year. What about the rest of the time? What do you use to get rid of the dirt, dust, and greasy finger prints?

Yup.... that's how those leather specialists clean leather products.

Once I used the Osim iEcology steam vacuum cleaner on my ride's seat n flooring..... it does wonder to remove dirt, stains and odour.... : )

How about the dash board? do you guys use the same lotion? and just wandering how is the BMW leather lotion compare to other brands that's cheaper and available more conveniently, like armour etc..... I've got a feeling that the BMW range of cleaning products is merely riding on the brand name to get more bucks. There should not be too different from other brands of leather cleaner..............

DO NOT USE Amourall on Leather unless u like to slide around while driving. I think it is only great if u are doing other things but not driving esp when u go for track sessions.

For me the Amourall is a bit too shining for the dash.

water on the dash needs to be very careful esp now a days with the electronics...... the BMW plastic/dash cleaner is pretty good, but a tat ex.

I used to clean once in a month

By applimg a cleaning solution with a terry-covered sponge or a soft brush and wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Mist the leather with a spray bottle containing clean water and wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Finally, apply Zymol Leather Care which is a premium quality leather conditioner containing natural oils and a sunscreen.

Re: How do you clean leather seats?

I have used Finish Kare 425 QD with Anti-static agent and MF cloth to clean my car interior (Good for dashboard and interior trims).

All you need to do is to spray the FK425 on the MF Cloth and then wipe.

It can get ride of greasy finger prints and due to the anti-static agent it attract less dust :)

On the topic of cleaning the interiors, can any one suggest a decent place / places to go to where they will clean your exterior and interior? Whats the costs like?

I am new to this forum, and oh, new to SG too and lastly new to owning a beemer. I just got a X3.

Any tips / tricks for car maintainence, dos and donts?

Greatly appreciated.

I actually think BMW's own brand leather care lotion / cream is the best. Expensive but good.

Actually hor...all the products carried by BMW and Mercedes are made by the leading manufacturer of the relevant product. But of course people at BMW and Mercedes will jack up the price many times and rename it as their own. So for all you know...your BMW leather lotion could be Zaino stuff! :yikess:

i bought a bottle of leather preservative from Mercedes recently...guess how much it costs
