Everytime I get in my car, the seat belt ringing tone always irritate me. I know to put on seat belt always, but there are times when I need to take off the belt early as I turn into carpark. Just a habit of mine....

My previous car I unplug the connector under the seat, but not sure about this E90 PFL. Can anyone advise me how can I get rid just the tone?

Thanks..

Code it out. Though it's good habit to always have belt on.

Check site sponsors area: R2D, Elbest, etc to see if they can do it for your car model.

Do you mean that with the clip inserted into driver seat belt attachment, the sound will not come on even with the seat belt off, and that the seat belt buckle can still be inserted into the same attachment point?

Don't think so. Not very safe if that is the case.

Agree with you bro. Without more details I can only imagine it is like an add-on attachment to the clip. The safety belt is there for a reason and tested rigorously under proper stress loads and high impact. Perhaps the clip has been tested and certified too but without the details I would not recommend it. In a high impact crash or roll-over, the last thing you want failing is your safety belt, and I am still here typing this because my seatbelt was buckled when things went wrong.

Habit can be changed especially bad habits. Here in IMHO is change for the better... why the need to take off seat belt early when turning into car park unless the seat belt irk you. If seat belt don't irk you, why u cannot wait to unbuckle it even when the car is still on the move?

It is ether the clip or the real thing can be inserted.

It makes no sense to wear seat belt... take it off early (when turning into car park), and getting this clip to insert into the clip holder... it actually makes accidents more likely.

Re: How to get rid of irritating seat belt ringing warning?

Funny reading some of the comments. My two cents:

One, buy a two-way plug if you do not wanna compromise safety (see attached).

Two, the are two ways to disengage the warning chimes (cable under the seat) - to engage PML or external workshops. PML will make you sign a disclaimer form and charge you around $150 for the job. You can go to external workshops to do the same job, but think hard about dodging PML if and when you send the car back for servicing......

Three, we are good and responsible drivers. We do not disengage seat beats on the road. You do not disclose that on a forum made public to everyone and anyone, including the authorities and insurance companies.

Re: How to get rid of irritating seat belt ringing warning?

Our BMWs are very safe cars. Even if the lady wants to bend over to the driver side to help the driver with his... erm gearstick, the moment she unbuckles, the warning will chime. Driver has no choice but to push the lady back.

True story. I NEVER SAY WHO IS THE DRIVER!
