how to remove pedal

was thinking of installing the sprint booster myself, understand that need to remove the screw on base, but couldn't pull out my pedal, is there any special or hidden catch to the pedal ? Tried lifting it up but also very tight and won't want to risk breaking it. Any bros can advise.......thanks

just installed by bernard yesterday, he looking around for matching screw driver to open up the pedal then plug in the device

I removed the screw but couldn't pull the pedal off.....anyway pass my sb to my cousin liao.
