Incidentally, there was a E60 that honked at me yesterday, indicating his intention to overtake me and cut sharply into the ocean financial center, which I think was the right thing for him to do, as it gave me a warning of his intent, rather than have him cut right in front of me, like how some blue colored taxis are fond of doing to me !

i think thats fair...a single press of the horn...not depressing it for longer than needed that smacks of anger...however still some will finger...

Thanks for that, Bat69. Like I said, I cycle myself and I know the reasons why people prefer the road (which also puzzles me why people take the road along changi coast road because the PCN there is very well paved.).

Unfortunately, for us living in the east, changi coastal road is the only road that runs straight for at least 8km one direction, with minimal traffic stops and 'vehicular traffic'. So, it's our favorite road to train. Mostly, cars/trucks tend to give us a wide berth, there seems to be mutual respect most of the time. But, shit happens.....

As for the PCN alongside, I run on it :shakemyb: honestly, it is not at all that smooth, tree roots had started to break up the tarmac and you get plenty of humps, and there are a lot of dead sticks and timber from the trees littering it...so not idea if you want to ride at >35kph...

Time to go riding again :)

I am not saying it's right, but these are some reasons that sometimes we do what we do and seems like we own the road and disregard all other users. Saying that, I also believe that if cyclist wants to cycle on the road, they need to start respecting other road users and not road hog, especially on a single lane or liberally flipping the bird to anyone that honks.

I just helped you to middle-finger a blue sonata for cutting abruptly in front of a female road-biker along Marina Bay Boulevard. I only help girls. Pls thank me. Cheers.

Yes worst still everyday have ang moh cyclist cycling back home on nicoll highway on the middle of the road around 6.45pm and jam the whole highway... Fucking hate it. Worst is that the driver behind the cyclist don't do anything and just drive slowly behind the cyclist as well. If one day let me be the one who drive behind the cyclist I will horn and fuck them. If they challenge me I will get out of my car and punch those mother fuckers!!! This is Singapore not yr country...

If you really do that you will regret it.

Just let them do whatever ...... Safety first.

Re: Inconsiderate Cyclists

Getting violent is no good... all end up in police station.
Moreover, these foreigners are 1st class in the eyes of garment
we as second class must tolerate . But i prefer to go really near
behind them and blast my honk at them. Some will really jump off their seat!
If they turn around and start shouting (*&%&,! you just hold your honk down
i swear they cant even hear hear themselves!

Re: Inconsiderate Cyclists

No mention of the serious offenses -

1. Speeding
2. Drunk driving
3. Using mobile phone
4. No need to obey traffic signals

If they speed past and hit you - no license plate to track they just run away.
If they are drunk and ride past a road block - Will the TP ignore ?
TP can watch them use their mobile as they peddle down Orchard Road.....
If they run through a red light and you hit them - you will be the one charged for not keeping a proper lookout for a "pedestrian" or a cyclist ? Either way your fault. If its a car - the one who did not observe traffic signal will be charged instead.

At the end of the day - don't mess with the cyclist. Cannot win.

..hmm..Jason, 2 be fair, Cyclists got 2 abide by rules, not only for their own safety, but for that of ours too. How many accidents hve we have read over the years, about motorists hitting cyclists, just becos either their rear lights r not working, or that they are cycling abreast each other...or tt they r being mistaken as tree branches...

..unfortunately...a tad too many....

Yes, give and take, whenever and wherever we can, road courtesy for all, definitely.

Antagonizing anyone, be it cyclists, bikers or motorists, is childish. And egoistic.

Truth is, SG roads r now oso getting increasingly endangered by, unfortunately, increasing numbers of China cyclists, lacking in grace, blatantly ignoring our roads regulations....most times. These type, needs to booked & charged heavily.

Not complaining at all and btw, I'm not behind them. Just sharing.

Re: Inconsiderate Cyclists

Just now, night time, as I was turning left at the traffic junction, where it just turned green, and the pedesrian crossing on my left was green, I waited for all the pedestrians to finish crossing. It was still flashing pedestrian green, but coast is completely clear, means I can proceed to turn left. Just as I started to accelerate, a teenager on a bicycle shot across at great speed from behind my car, on the pavement from my left, cross the pedestrian crossing, to beat the flashing green man.

The speed at which he was riding, is such that even if u checked your coast is clear, and proced to move, he can appear and you'll never see him one.

Lucky I was a very sart driver, and I could stop in time for him to zoom past. He never knew the danger he was in, which also means he's gonna do it again in future. And he might not have the luxury of meeting such an excellent driver such as me. Wth.

Cyclist have to push their bicycle should they need to cross the traffic junction for safety reasons like what you have encountered.

If she's chio. I'll jam brake again. And this time I can give her an option to kiss any other body parts.

If on the other hand her car hit the rear of my car, I may claim her.
