Aiyah, that exactly what I said mah.... how many people have cars that can keep going 200-100-200-100......all within seconds? Ask the NA guys and the answer would be that they require several tens of seconds to gain back that kind of speed..

A lot of BMWs (or for that matter many other normal NA cars) can do that (100-200, and vice versa consistently). And brake fade can happen even if these were done not within "seconds". Our weather is so hot, and those trunks in NS overtake like they own the roads; bbk comes in very useful.

Was referring to driving hard, coupled with hot waether. I didn't say need. I said it would help with brake fade if one drives hard on NS highway, max rev, hard braking, etc.

Pls google on brake fade.

Ya, normal driving on highway can fade the brake pad.
I normally drive with my left foot slightly depressing on the brake. Just in case theres a need to e-brake. With the trw brake pads rated at around 650deg, it starts to fade very fast. That why i need the michelin PSS to cup corner without braking.

looking at the driving posted here. none of u need BBK. be honest. if its for swee do it. else nothing here justifies BBK. nothing. not NSH not heavy city driving. better off buying good tires. u want better feel change to steel hoses. even higher DOT temp certified brake fluids will more than suffice.

If you feel the braking distance is longer, that is because your wheel ( tires n rims ) have gone up in weight, thus increasing rotational mass.

just think about it. ur bigger rotors 10 pot shitt...can grip. but in a fat ass road car. the weight keeps going. ur rubber is the thing that needs to grip. good BBK, poor rubber. car continues fwd. a good BBK doesnt make u stop shorter in day to day driving. or NSH e-stop situation. in fact on the NSH....ur brakes r often cold when u need to E-brake.


a BBK is effective more for dissipitating heat in an again and again and again and again cycle....ie track work. even then....after 3 hot laps. b4 ur BBK goes. ur tires go first. then ur brake travel go longer....as the fluids in the hoses boil.....

as far as personal experience goes...modding car for road driving...its all about the looks. if for performance...u r better off buying the next level up. ie..535 over a 528..u save more money than trying to modify to xtract a 535 power from a 528.

however, if u r serious about performance modding. u start with unsprung weight first. ie. wheels/suspension.....lighter is better. than u go on to perhaps brakes...exos for sound...n wee bit power depending on ur engine sizes/turbo no turbos etc.....n then finally u touch the ECU. in fact for a road car....u gain more time on track with just good suspension set ups and hyper light rims + semi slicks, than trying to squeeze butt feel 20hp from ECU.

anyway im retired from tracking....karting is better!
