Hey Guys,

Anyone tried the difference between the two engines?

Does it feel more jerky on the Inline 4 twin turbo?

Is the Inline 6 called F10 and Inline 4 twin turbo called F11?

I'm newbie so please comment generously.

Re: Inline 6 (523) vs Inline 4 twin turbo (520)

It's the 8 speed box actually. My 523i (engine code N52) is also jerky at times, especially when starting from a standstill or in small places like carparks. The additional torque from the inline 4 (engine code is N20) 520i should make it slightly more jerky. I think it's due to the TC lockup.

BMW is meant to be driven hard. To avoid jerk, must drive it hard:thumbsup:

Totally new car?

It will be quite jerky. In fact, very jerky especially when coming to a stop. Throttle pedal response will also be laggy.

For whatever reason, it just grows out of it as you put some miles. Never becomes perfect though. The car is smoothest immediately after some spirited driving.

Re: Inline 6 (523) vs Inline 4 twin turbo (520)

jerk too much is not good for health
time to change car ... long time never mentioned this liao :D

You need to reserve 10 lots? Get it in the open market.

Re: Inline 6 (523) vs Inline 4 twin turbo (520)

Now still "running in" for first 2000km.. Maybe after that try manual..

Bro golilok, I used to own a IS250 and RX450 so fully understand what you mean in your review. Also that's why now change to turbo charged for different feel. One thing for sure, acceleration feels lighter. Maybe that's why got hollow feeling...

Bro slow_poke_driver, yes totally new car. Maybe better after run in... Will try per your advise

Any idea if can tune or adjust anything to smooth up the jerks?
