20i can't remap to 28i lah afaik intercooler smaller and also the diff ratio different. in addition 28i cars have uprated brakes also.

520i and 528i share the same gearbox and rear differential, same part number. So ratio is exactly the same. Intercooler and exhaust on the 520i is smaller.

Larger disc with bigger caliper is an option part on 528i, some dealer bring in, some don't. It is some "country specific brake" option where if you have=not the bigger brake.

I dun wish to haolian
And I hope I'm not being bias
But my f10 n52b30 downshift beautifully and accelerate lavishly
Might have to do with the engine but I love this 8 speed thgy
I would like to invite douggie to try, pls PM me if you are interested

Thanks for the offer bro. But I worry I will hate my car more after I test yours. :)

Yeah, but I feel that the "sheer driving pleasure" and "ultimate driving machine" ended at the E series.

Could be the n52b30 with lower low end torque. When my car was in running in limp mode, the gearbox shifted perfectly. Zero jerk and sibei smooth, just no power. Kinda like how the old e60 pre lci 525i was.

Then again, this jerky/laggy gearbox problem in f10 started when bmw was still using n52 engine.

I think you might be right. If the engine had more power and torque, then the car can still accelerate if it downshifts only one gear. For my car, there are other instances where it drops more than one gear, the rpm shoots near redline and you are not accelerating much before it needs to downshift again.
