Since my car was in the workshop last week, I requested them to tune my new F10 that has an idling speed of 900 rpm. According to the workshop, it is normal to be 900rpm. But they tune it down to 800rpm for me.

What is your idling speed @ neutral?

how long u idling ur car?? if only 1 or 2 min I dun thk it make a significant different in FC. a good way is to switch off ur car if more than tat.....

Re: Is there a standard Idling speed F10?

Got 750rpm? Please add more poll categories, thanks.

Re: Is there a standard Idling speed F10?

I just went to measure. 792.4527. is that good or bad? shud I tune it to 800 too?

Re: Is there a standard Idling speed F10?

I think its 800 min and 900 max.

If it's set lower and the car doesn't vibrate ...... Then set it lower.

Re: Is there a standard Idling speed F10?

One major difference is cold start versus warm start.

Else it is just the solenoid controlling the idling. 700-750 RPM is normal.

800 or 900 got difference meh?

Not much difference, just that 900 rpm is the maximum and I dun wish to begin a new car with the maximum.

The idling speed is the base rpm even when you rev your engine, you will reach higher rpm faster.

Okay I am not opening a can of worms here, but this is just a general preference and there is nothing wrong with higher rpm. In fact, some race car drivers increase their rpm so as to anticipant faster burst of speed.

haha... you got a point. But hopefully not, I previously driven a C class for 9 years and I still interested to learn more.

And idling got 2 profile - with aircon and no aircon.

No aircon will be lower than with aircon.

Fyi only.

Sometime idle set higher is to mask problems ....... e.g. for second hand car sale.
