Re: Khang Auto

Peter King, on his 9182 5200 number, has a message which says he is no longer with Kar since Dec 2011.

Raymond Khang's number is 9777 5200. I called him and told him that as 50% owner and director of Kar Engineering, he is morally and by law liable, especially if the company was trading while insolvent.

Under company law, if a company is insolvent, and the directors keep on trading and as a result creditors are defrauded, the directors are liable and in many circumstances, can be sued and be made bankrupt by the company's creditors

Can forum owners who have been effected, please call or SMS Raymond Khang on 9777 5200 and give him this message. If enough people call him and tell him he is at risk, he may do something, especially as he still runs Khang Auto transmissions.

Has anyone done an ACRA search on Kar Engineering? Might be worthwhile knowing who else are directors of the company so that pressure can be brought on them. If a company makes bad decisions and goes bankrupt, that is different, but if a company knowingly sells me a warranty for $2,000 when it is already insolvent, that has serious consequences and is tentamount to fraud.

I think there were some 16/18 people on the original list, may be we can get together and get a lawyer to look at this angle.

Re: Khang Auto

on the other hand, it shows that PI has no own workshop and they depends on tie up workshop
anyhow push blame to workshop, "too bad, the workshop fold up, what to do" ... it's like buy with own risk.
even workshop did not fold up, when warranty claim arise, push here push there ... owner suffers

Agree.

This case has opened the way for other consumers to seek proper action against such unprofessional businesses.

Worst case is the workshop and PI both fold-up and close down.
