Re: kw v3 coilover

Since it is a coilover (I believe you bought this because it is height-adjustable right?), you can adjust whatever height you want. Why the need to ask people? There is no right or wrong if you choose 2 fingers or 3 finger front so it is hard for anyone to advise.

Are you new to coilover or BMW or cars in general?

Re: kw v3 coilover

The rear is too low, might have RUBBING effect when going over hump or travelling fast on uneven roads....good to have clearance to cushion the gap.

Re: kw v3 coilover

using v3 on previous car. any workshop can help you adjust... try 8 clicks rear 10 clicks front

Re: kw v3 coilover

I am on v2 and it seems the front has more clearance than the rear but I do remember the height was set to be the same and it looks the rear is lower than the front so I told the workshopy set the front lower than the rear. In another post, one of the bro (should be pengful) said the wheelarch is different for the front and rear.

And fingers not the way to adjust height.

Please refer to the manual ....,, they have 2 methods. Use it else it will affect your handling.

Re: kw v3 coilover

Best to check out a few photos on the web on how others lowered their car to determine what sort of look you like. Keep in mind of clearence for carpark, speed bumps, etc. Too low will also cause under carriange to scrap sometimes going over bumps. Balancing looks & performace vs practicality is tough.

actually should measure before install the coils. like i said, I setup all the same height then installed and based on visual, rear is lower than front due to gap clearance from fender so told the workshop to lower the front slightly more and now based on visual, my sideskirt looks rear higher than the front.

I guess the reason that the front is higher than the rear based on same height adjustment on the coils could be due to different spring rates. The front has a higher spring rate to support the engine's weight during a rebound.
