KW V3 for F10 - Please help

Decided to post this as a dedicated thread as the answers I got so far are not conclusive.

Under F10 Adaptive drive, there are 2 types: Dynamic Drive (Normal, Sport, Sport+), and Dynamic Damping Control (Comfort, Sport, Sport+).

I know that Dynamic drive does the following when you select "Sports": Stiffen the Steering Wheel and suspension, higher rev gear change.

I am not sure what happens with Dynamic Damping Control, though.

My question is:

If I install KW V3, would I still be able to select Normal and sports mode? While I understand that the stiffening of the suspensions will probably not work, since KW are already stiff, I would like the steering and higher revs to work. Will there be error messages?

I also heard that KW provides a component to remove the module altogether in order not to have error messages. Is that true? Module is deleted??

I read that, thanks. That's my point exactly. What does this mean:

Electronic damping control has to be deactivated. Deactivation kit is included in the delivery.
Not for vehicles with automatic self leveling control

Hi,

I know you are as keen as i am about finding the answer...we asked about it in some other posts and weren't getting any answer from the retailers..

Anyway, i think its pretty confirm changing to the KW will disengaged all the EDC including the engine response/faster transmission upshift. From my check, whatever mode u dial in, it goes back to normal.. Apparently, checked with KW, they working on a module that just overide the damping part, retaining the engine response but it's not in the make at the moment and they can't confirm it in the near future.

Still thinking if i should forgone everything and go with the KW....arghhhhhhh

Thanks for the info! I am in the same fix as you. The wheel arch gap is just ugly. There are bros who have installed it. If I could just get my hands on one. Any takers? Lunch on me.

Yalor, agree with u on the wheel/arch gap...even with lowered springs, u still have 2 finger gaps..
Maybe, those that have gone KW here, do not have EDC.. but lets hope if there r, they might just share their experiences.. sigh, still contemplating.....

hey guys,

even if the KW module disengage EDC + engine/trans SPORTS & SPORTS+ setting i think you can still flick the gear lever over to sports and that is better than nothing right?

I just would like to see what I am getting, so that I can decide if I go or not, and which compromises would I be making.

Sorry my bad. Maybe all of u can wait for Bilstein B16 as there is a version for ///M3 with EDC.

I emailed Bilstein. They were very frank. It doesn't work. Here is their reply:

We thank you for your keen interest in our product and also your e-mail to our factory. My company is the agent for Bilstein in Singapore.
The EDC function will not be usable if the PSS10 is installed.
There could possible be a warning light that will appear on the dashboard as well. We hope that this information is helpful for you.

- Cancellers avoid ECU failure when suspension is upgraded to KW suspensions
- Only factory damper signal is cancelled which results in prevention of error signal
- Electronic control unit remains fully functional
- Also usable for suspensions made by other manufacturers and OE aftermarket suspensions

IMHO, as B16 is available for ///M3 EDC & Porky PASM, it is a matter of time that it will be available for F10. Since u pay so much for EDC, why not wait?

If cannot wait, H&R 1st lor.
