Looking for Year 2000 E46 Sedan

Hi Bros and Sis,

Recently slipped a chance to buy a 2nd hand E46 Semi-Auto from Turf City. Too bad.

Any recommendation or places where I can get 2nd hand 318i Sedan steptronic? I want COE car, due to budget, that's why looking for ard year 2000 car. Anyone can help me out pls...

Got an Ad selling manual transmission, year 1998. But if manual, can the parts be sought for easily? Becos nowadays all auto liao...

Hi Jack,

Got pros & cons for auto or manual car........is true that nowadays all auto already....
the only concern is the COE car that you will be buying: usually quite high mileage (what happen if the gear box breakdown? quite costly to repair or replaced (so long if you are ok with the sum)........manual at most change new clutch (much more affordable), but then of course if your Mrs is driving then auto best for the lady..................

it all depends on your dollars and cents...

Thx for the info... but still, I am seriously considering a manual E46... It feels more like I am driving the car, much more smoother, more powerful. I tried E46 auto, can't feel the "connection" much... Any E46 owner/shifu here that I can consult?

As long as the E46 gearbox has been well maintained...
Auto can be very smooth 5 speeder...

Mine very smooth.
Thanks to Rod who practically emptied out the entire 'box.
And refreshed all the ATF.

If you want taxi ride.
Let me know, maybe can arrange. haha...

bro, have you seen e46 for the link you provided? headed down to take a look alrdy.. seems like there's a sound from the pulley.. not sure izzit the water pump or crank shaft.. and idling seems very unstable... if not, i'd be damn interested....

oh, pulley got sound: could be the belt....

Idling seems unstable: maybe you can bring it down to BVO for a check....(maybe Idling valve giving way???)

if budget allows go for the Valvetronic variants: 318i but 2.0L (N46B20)
worried later the 1.9L variant you complaint not much power (4 cyc 8 valve)

The E46 valvetronic should be N42B20.

Believe the N46B20 is a later variant, found on the E90s.
