The defining feature of the M3, at the end of the day, is its high-revving V8. There are other cars which also have a V8 with even more power (AMG, Audi etc), even better handling (GTR), the list goes on. If you are unable to appreciate this, then yes the 335 might be a better choice for you. You won't be able to *safely* explore either car's limits on Singapore roads. On a proper circuit like Sepang I would go with the M3. If you don't ever plan to visit the track or primarily use it as a daily driver on Singapore roads and just want to have a nice-looking car then go with the 335.
There's also another car you can consider and it's the 1M. It's in-between the 335 and M3. Despite often being denigrated as a "parts-bin" car and not a "true M car" it holds its own against the M3 in the performance department. However it's only available in manual so that may be a factor influencing your purchase decision.
